when i imagine general lighting, i always imagine an owl. maybe its because GL is undoubtedly wise, and because owls have been drilled into my head as being wise ever since i was made to sit through every episode ever of “animals of farthing wood” as a child, but i honestly see GL as an owl. on a computer.
hope this helps. x

July 17, 2009 at 12:52 pm #1203738thanks everyone but I don’t think I am as wise as an owl, in Winter 2003 I decided to cycle from Reading to High Wycombe, I thought I would be clever and follow my GPS and the river path to avoid riding on some dangerous roads, and actually got hooted by a real owl (the Moot Owl?) the whole length of the Thames Path from Hurley to Marlow whilst getting totally bogged down in mud in pitch darkness (I assumed it would be like Reading where the path is either tarmaced or maintained by the river authority!!)
If I had any sense I would have stayed on the road (I think I did end up riding along the shoulder of the A404 at one point!). I did get to the rave at about 04:00 rather muddy and disshevelled
