I can’t beleive it!
I have just spent 130 quid on tickets for this and i’m shocked and appauled to see that we now have to pay 15pounds to park for the weekend, were not allowed to take glass bottles in which is all well and good for safety and all that BUT you have to use their plastic bottles and pay for that ASWELL!
I’m really trying my hardest to forget all this but it seems that corperate facism is getting in the way of my good time once again! Grrrrrrrrrrr! 😥
Absolute robbing criminal wankers! How an earth can people get away with this! And yet i’m classed as a criminal for smoking a cigarette at my OWN FREE WILL!
Fuck em! I’m so annoyed!
May 23, 2008 at 6:25 pm #1172465umm parking should be free but cummon look at the lineup, its going to be an insane weekend. personally i cant wait. anyone else going?

I do agree the line up is immense though :weee:
The prodigy :weee: :weee: :weee: To name one! hehehehehe!
May 23, 2008 at 6:32 pm #1172438didn’t realise it was that expensive, but most of the money in these things actually goes to the license authority and cops for “policing costs”
Apparently TVP once used to get free tickets to Crasher for the bobbies, so they could keep an eye on the drug use and to offset the policing costs, although it just resulted in one of them a few years ago turning up at a squat party in Reading and saying “hey, this is actually a good party! I don’t really want to close it down but our sarge says I have to” :crazy_diz
May 23, 2008 at 6:33 pm #1172466few crossed wires i think :laugh_at: i mean to say it should be free! yeah, i really hope the prodigy play wind it up, if they play wind it up i’m a happy man.

Yeah way to expensive!
I do realise thats what most of the money goes on, but to be honest I should have uk teked it instead! After all I am a responsible adult who can look after myself. To be honest the only criminals at Gatecrasher where the organisers of Gatecrasher!
Absolutely no atmosphere in any of the tents whatsoever just people standing aroung looking bored and suddenly cheering when they here some radio one remix! (Kanye West should be shot) And the main stage got closed down because the DIDN’T prepare for the rain!
Just another corperate company commiting daylight robbery! Won;t be going there again!
Oh and one more thing… The soundsytems wern’t loud enough, I suppose they must have health and safety regulations and of course there is housing nearby! But why not have it in a field somewhere else and pump the tunes proper, should be my free choice to listen to offensively loud music if
May 26, 2008 at 8:08 pm #1172439I read some report that there was loads of undercover in there from TVP (despite it being in a different force area) and they had been following dealers for 4 months…
edit : just seen your review

would have been a lot of distance and dust though, and the risk of being clobbered by riot cops if you didn’t leave at the right moment..
Have to admit I’ve been tempted by some of the events on DSI but other than the smaller ones done by local underground crews I’ve never wanted to do a big legal rave, they are just too big and more dodgy shit seems to happen at them than even some free parties!
May 26, 2008 at 8:21 pm #1172447Stomping about in the mud was the highlight of my evening! Had full on water proof clothing and wellies and all so we could just jump about in it. As you always wanted to as a kid.
I think the above says pretty much everything else……..!
Prodgidy where okay, but they seemed to play all the classics and then finish off with some proper bassy stuff but not actually ever drop a full on stomping bassline, it was like they where winding you up and giving you a taster for something……hmmmmm part of me thinks they may have been plugging there new album which is being mentioned quite alot recently on radio one. 😉
Food stalls where good to. I had rice n pee with battered salt fish. ummmm ummmm!
May 26, 2008 at 11:54 pm #1172459Someone was telling me that they were chatting to someone who had left crasher to come to the party up north!! Must have been poo to spend all that money and not stay for it…. I refused to go as soon as I saw the cost!
May 27, 2008 at 2:26 pm #1172454had a mate pay for my ticket to drive him there. was a good night, but theres no way you can justify 5 quid for a bottle of cider. food was good, but even the stalls had jacked there prices up to the limit. paid 6 quid for 4 donuts and a fiver for some chips.
prodigy were pretty good , and the dnb. but they need something a bit harder though. there were tyhree tents playing mainstream gash all night. that light poncy trance, though they did throw some good tunes into the mix occasionally. and the oldskool tent was a laugh.
glad my mate didnt get sunday tickets though. the wind was terible and as we left the site at 5.30, it started to rain heavily. thru till monday afternoon.
way to expensive, the only cheap thing about the whole night were the pills!
May 27, 2008 at 2:30 pm #1172464Sounds like they really fucked people over with the prices, specially 6quid for a fucking bottle of cider!!! Fucking corporate stooges!! :crazy_diz
May 27, 2008 at 2:58 pm #1172435Anonymousgatecrasher why not gatecrash it? isnt it more like scally fest?
May 27, 2008 at 4:15 pm #1172463what is this i hear about someone dieing??thats pretty damn terible dose anyone no what happend?
This could also be bad for free parties i mean if it happens at a licensed event i feel it will make the police and courts alot more funny about iligal events?
May 27, 2008 at 6:14 pm #1172455yeah some old boy was found in his tent on sunday morning.
they havent said (afaik) what killed him, they havent’ said it was an overdose, but are yet to outrule that.
it was some middle aged man, thats all i know.
im guessing it was either alcohol or an overdose on summat else. alot of people there probably only go to events like that occaisionaly and arent the most clue’d up. tbh, theres no info being handed out about drugs and what they do, and i didnt see any medics walking about to see if people are ok, just the odd ambulance just outside the boundaries. they seem to want to get away from the fact that people take drugs.

Yeah thats true, they found the poor dude in one of the arena’s. Apparently it wasn;t drug related though.
I thought this always happend at legal events anyway? What with them charging £3 a pot for water? and then not providing any free stuff and having no air conditioning? I would of thought this is wear they get most of the so called ”ectasy” related deaths from at hospitals.
May 27, 2008 at 11:55 pm #1172449MrAHC wrote:gatecrasher why not gatecrash it? isnt it more like scally fest? Not really…..more like mummy and daddy paid for my ticket ”lets go and check out the rave scene”.
Of course there where the horrible drug dealer types which just stood there looking nasty!
errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Nasty shit! I will never go to a mainstream dance event again.
I’m considering Big Chill and Glade? Anyone know what there like?
May 27, 2008 at 11:56 pm #1172450In fact!
To put it into words…..They treated me like a fucking cunt and then charged me for it! WANKERS!

I would of thought this is wear they get most of the so called ”ectasy” related deaths from at hospitals.thing is on our scene people don’t like to grass and the only way to get this dealt with is to put a formal complaint into the Licensing authority (and I think the water thing was a voluntary agreement)
I think the pills these days hardly got much MDMA in them anyway
Also cops, councils and these big rave organisers play a “chess game” with you and your lifes / safety as the pawns.
May 28, 2008 at 11:10 am #1172458skattyasfuk wrote:I’m considering Big Chill and Glade? Anyone know what there like?Definitely would recommend both! Glade’s better for partying loads, Big Chill the clue’s in the name really.. The 2 best festivals I’ve been to for sure though, worked as security at Big Chill and still felt as part of the festival like anyone else there, really friendly vibes at these nothing like at the big commercial ones!
May 28, 2008 at 11:42 am #1172470i’m over excited about glade:bounce_fl , what’s big chill like? i may have to get on the ol’ youtube 😉

Big Chill IMO is pretty shit. its for people that have read about festivals in the guardian and want to go to one where they can have a shower everyday, not be far from clean toilets and be in bed tucked up for 11 every night. I actually saw a stall selling the guardian and the observer :you_crazy who wants to read a paper at a festival? i go to festivals to get away from the outside world.
This opinion has got nothing to do with the fact that i got thrown out of there for selling nitrous when i was supposed to be working on wed night before the fest even started:crazy_diz
my mates didnt get thrown out and said it was wank as well tho, they may have just been trying to make me feel better tho….
get youself to shambala, now thats a quality festivalraaaMay 28, 2008 at 12:17 pm #1172442djprocess wrote:I actually saw a stall selling the guardian and the observer :you_crazy who wants to read a paper at a festival? i go to festivals to get away from the outside world.the graun is always at the leftie/yoghurt weaver festivals. I stopped buying their paper when it went on line in the 90s and the kittens grew up, it was still a big broadsheet (which was OK) it had a small arts section what was exactly the right size for the litter tray (and that was all that part of the paper was good for).

I also like the fact that you can walk around and actually do other stuff. For instance Bill Bailey is there which i’m really looking forward to.
Also I love to here new music and there are lots of bands i’ve never heard of before playing there which would be lush.
But I felt the same about Gatcrasher before I went…..thought it was going to be amazing and then I realised they where just another company.

because its a “dream job” everyones fighting hard for their piece of the cake..
