Forum Upgrade Notice

I upgraded to a new version of our forum software so please don’t be alarm if a few things are a bit of today and post any problems you have in this thread…:weee:

as at 16:40 UK time new editor seems to be working fine but had to clear all cache/cookies/stored data from firefox and log back in to get the new functionality. If anyone else is experiencing odd problems its worth doing this…

the PDA skin has a couple of minor bugs. you can get in but when you select drop down box to change back you can’t get out… also on this skin some of the menu options on the User Control panel are in French.

I assume “basic” is the new “no images” skin and “Rehab” is the old style PV one, with a “new SJ” style “black and gold skin?”

otherwise all good stuff….

I’ve made some progress, mostly it’s all good with everything I can think of working fine except the chatroom’s which is still not working…

The chatroom also works again now, but you’ll have to log in using your forum username and password until I can fix a glitch…

i’m in danger of sounding like a broken record, but i wonder if the forum upgrade is having a strange effect on my mac….

didn’t notice anything different at first, but for a couple of days the appearance of the forum (is that the skin?) has been changing – from the regular blue background to a different looking black one – without me doing anything. when it has the black background i don’t seem to have the same functions.

what should it look like right now and is there a way to stop it from jumping around? – its really annoying!!

I dont think what your seeing is a Mac specific issue, im on a mac. The skin’s are different than before the upgrade but that because of the upgrade.

today, the site is in its regular blue colours, but should it be in black now? what does it look like on your screen for me to have something to compare it to?

ok – i see – you can select what skin you want in your options…
should have figured that out sooner!
anyway, still doesn’t explain why it would change skins without me doing anything and even in the middle of just reading a thread.
i hope my computer isn’t poorly 🙁

The upgrade meant I had to change a few things, sorry for the disruption and let me know if you have any more problems. I’m especially curious about how it displays on macs so soem screenshots would be nice actually. Anyway you can always change style with the drop down menu at the bottom…:bigsmile:

On a windows machine it’d be alt+print screen, then paste into photoshop or word, save it and attach it to a post. Someone’ll have to help me translate that in macspeak though…

ok, so the best i can manage at the moment is a pdf file – which doesn’t look exactly like it appears on my screen, but its the closest i’ve got!

also, when i’m typing a post, i can’t find an option to put smileys in the body of the text – is this a mac thing too??
