yep good bit of mental banter instead of the standard greeting which you barely acknowledge.

I remember when i was working at the college a few months ago and the amount of people that say ‘you alright’ but they really don’t care if i’m the happiest guy alive or the most miserable person in the world about to shoot myself!!! it’s programmmed in to us to say…..

people normally always say yeah i’m alright as well which is odd, same question you don’t care for the answer then the same answer which is most probably a lie 😛

it is a rhetorical question used to greet rather than inform. Odd (by odd I mean its curious) how its developed though, linguistics must be an interesting subject.

it’s interesting when i read about the power of persuasion and how we have built in reactions to things people say (apparently as a way to fast track things) so you can actually use it to your advantage to make someone do something really odd and out of character just from saying the right thing.

He was laying on my kitchen floor at 6am with a cup of tea next to him when he took that, as the flash came on his phone that glint in his eye came with a noise coming out of his mouth like ‘GUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH’.
