you’re one of the lucky ones then, they are poorly designed… inefficient, expensive to fix, awful to drive, poor safety in an accident, uncomfortable to sit in etc

November 3, 2007 at 4:25 am #1124092Don’t laugh but look at the Skoda Felicia.. its made by VW so has all the shit that the polo has but for a fraction of the price.. Seat and Skoda are both owned by VW but are cheaper.. although the boy racers have copped onto the seat ibiza being like a golf only cheaper now..
Skoda’s aren’t the shit they used to be years ago mainly due to being owned by VW a few yrs ago the felicia had all the new stuff in it that the followin years polo was going to have.. they tested it on that so u got all the perks earlier and cheaper..

November 3, 2007 at 9:38 am #1124140skodas are well reliable.
i recently bought a new (3 year old) Ka, simply coz i needed summat reliable, economical to run, cheapness of parts, work, inurance, tax etc.
i looked at all sorts – skoda, VWs, Kas, but in the end this one turned up only 13,000 miles, only one owner, a real steal so . . .
I mourned my old mazda (it had soul) an really didn’t ‘like’ this new one, just not me, but . . . I have to say i’ve been won over, she’s like an old mini, so throw-aroundable, surprisinlgy fast, sticks to the road, runs on air it seems an i’m actually (against expectations) very happy with her, shes ace fun
have a few different ones in mind and judge em on their individual condition as well as their reputation

😥 😥 😥
Had a beautiful 205gti for 11 months, got insured for £400 for the year at the age of 20, then last month (i’m hidelously ashamed to say) had a bit of an ‘incident’ in it.
😥
Now demoted to a 306 td, costing me £680 a year to insure, which isn’t so bad i guess. They’re insurance group 5 so good for a first car.
I want my 205gti back :hopeless:

November 4, 2007 at 10:50 pm #1124089i have an extremely reliable and economic nissan micra for sale.. genuine reason for sale.. growing family
has done 100,000 miles, but that’s not too much for a japanese car, you’ll get another 50 – 70,000 out of it before you need to do any major work
12 months tax and MOT, new battery, recent exhaust and tyres, no rust, working stereo
it’s surprisingly nippy and can be parked sideways
£450 due to slightly tatty condition
it is red

November 5, 2007 at 10:57 am #1124100First car was a Renault 4, had 205 1.4 for a while, saw many many parties, right little trooper and easy to work on  Best bargain, Renault 5 1750 GTX with 10 months test and 4 months tax for £85 from Diss auctions  Still got it but need to get working on it over winter to get it back on the road. I’ve had loads of Vauxhall and Fords but they’ve all been fuck cheap put ons so I’ve not been upset when they finally fail but if I was putting money in, I go Japanese or French

November 6, 2007 at 12:39 pm #1124159I’ve got a Ka and I love it. It does everything, it’s cheap to fix and it’s quite nice, plus it’s SO cheap to run.
