does it cover CDJ’ing as well?or are they pretty much similar enough that you can learn either from one book?
and what do you mean you’ll post yours up?
September 1, 2008 at 12:46 pm #1176293YWD – Turntablism is using the decks as a instrument rather than simply mixing tracks together. Scratching & Beat Juggling etc. You can scratch and beat juggle with digital formats but if you are serious about it then it’s vinyl or nothing to be honest.
I can’t really advise you on CD decks.. or turntables for that matter, because I would always suggest Technics (for decks) or Pioneer CDJ MKII or MKIII (for CD decks) because that is what I have used and would only use on a professional soundsystem. I realise they are not the ideal starter decks though because they aren’t cheap.
September 1, 2008 at 12:50 pm #1176328Yes it does, however The basics of how to DJ are the same for both CD decks and turntables. What I mean is i will lend you my copy of the guide and send in the post to you.

September 1, 2008 at 2:18 pm #1176329No probs buddy , same offer goes to Dom if you want and i would check to see what the mixer is as thats a pretty steep price. There are loads of bargain 1210s out there with really good mixers for less than £500, is that vynle worth £300+ to you, are they tunes you enjoy?

He’s been mixing oldskool for nearly 20 years and his HUGE collection is worth more than the whole price :weee:
Oldskool along with Acid techno are my biggest loves. Oldskool dance to oldskool hardcore, techno and gabba.
If there are tunes I dont like, Id sell them on Discogs and start building my acid techno collection raaa And thank you for the offer 🙂
September 1, 2008 at 2:36 pm #1176330AHHA! then they could well be worth the extra then as its already tunes you love.
Its Much more enjoyable mixing/learning to mix with tunes you love as you will have yourself a head start on knowing what happens where in each tune.
September 1, 2008 at 2:39 pm #1176324i don’t any decent tune names or anything 🙁 .i just listen to mixes, the tracklist hasn’t really ever interested me until now when im starting to think of djing lol

A good way I got to know tune names Is to download them separate.
September 1, 2008 at 2:56 pm #1176331This is where the web begins, everyone starts somewhere , you check whats the track is called and who it is produced by then you seek out other tunes by them or other remixes of the tune, you notice the lable that they are releasing on , who else is producing on that lable? as each lable has is own signature sound to them , whats their tunage like? Whats their productions like on other lables? More lables more strings to the web ,more mixes, more djs, more engineers, more producers and befor you know it you are spouting of info to all and who everwill listen, as a tune is 4 beats in you will be o o o o “this is dj SpunkTrench with Aural Rape the no condoms mix on STD records”
Well some people are like that any way
