Hi there, I have been listening to the mp3 DJ sets on the site here (DJ Illusion and Easygroove, Dj Shocka and Dj Die live) and I was wondering if there are any track listings of these sets available? I am interested getting some originals of some of the tracks played.

Thanks for your help,
Dave.
Edit: An updated link to this mix…

August 28, 2001 at 6:56 am #1059435Your best bet might be to record the sets to tape or minidisk, take them to a record shop and play the tracks you like to someone there…
February 10, 2002 at 5:00 am #1059422Anonymousheh I was just about to post the same question; the Easygroove mix has a few tunes I’d *love* to get my hands on… blinding set. From the sound of the crowd in the background it makes me wish I’d been there!
The first two tracks (ie. major samples), “OK… Alright” and “Freedom! Free Freedom!” are the ones I’d really like to track down (the first one may sample “The Minutemen – OK, Alright”?)
Tracks I noticed in the first bit were:
(Lonnie Gordon, Vanilla Ice (!)) – Gonna Catch You
808 State – Pacific State
Moby – Go
(Tuff Little Unit, FSOL?) – Join the FutureI notice Easygroove is playing a few sets in the UK at the moment, from a number of old-school listings websites… might be worth tracking him down and requesting a tracklist, if he can remember 🙂
February 10, 2002 at 9:20 am #1059436I’m not sure he’d remember, unless he’s been rehashing the same set for the past 11 years. If you do mail him however, ask him about the party and let me know what he says. I’d love to know whether he remembers it 😉
February 11, 2002 at 5:13 pm #1059423Anonymoushehe yeah, he’s recently started doing the old-school circuit in the UK again so I reckon there’s a fair chance he remembers/still has the tunes!
Managed to find a few more trawling Audiogalaxy…
The “Join the future” sample is from “Tuff Little Unit – Come Join the Future” on Warp records (quite slow, pitched up in that mix)
“OK… Alright” is from “Digital Boy – OK Alright” (tuuune! 🙂 )
the Gonna Catch You sample I *think* is from “Belkin Brothers – Gonna Catch You”, although that may be a remix of an earlier record which Easygroove uses (sounds more like mid/late 90s funky house…)
Still trying to find the “Free…Freedom” tune :

October 5, 2002 at 6:09 am #1059439using winmx search for: ‘Easygroove and DJ Die – Live on Forest Hill – 1991.mp3’. someone’s sharing the high resolution version of this mix on the australian peer network.
March 18, 2003 at 3:07 am #1059429The first track is called ‘Tortuga’ by Axe Corner and the tune that get’s played into Lonnie Gordon’s ‘Gonna Catch You’, is ‘Android’ by the Prodigy.
March 18, 2003 at 11:12 am #1059430“Free, freedom” is either ‘Freedom’ or ‘We need freedom’ by Antico, I think…

April 13, 2005 at 10:54 am #1059425AnonymousNo bother, several years on from starting this thread I’ve identified all the tracks I was interested in. 🙂 Having said that do you know him well enough to ask him for some mixes for our mp3 section?

:biggreen:
for other old school lovers, have a look at http://www.hardcorewillneverdie.com
it’s the most comprehensive archive of dance tunes from 1990-1994 I’ve seen
in fact there are only about 20 tunes in the ‘unidentified’ section which are incomplete / unnamed :weee:

i was at the Forest Hill Party that Easygroove did that set.
It was my first ever rave…
it was immense!
I also did a small dj set myself.
It was done in a small clearing just outside Oxford from a few travelers double decker busses, and went on for about 4 days with no police hassle.
Easygroove, DJ Die, Tim & Keiren from local Prism night at “Oxford Venue” (now the Zodiac)
was the “Freedom” track properly identified? If so has anyone got a copy of it?
I will happily supply some recordings of the rest of the Forest Hill rave in exchange.

The “Freedom” tune you speak of is “We Need Freedom” by “Antico”.
I have about 30 seconds of it on one of the “Hit The Decks” mixes from yesteryear. I like the tune loads too!!
