I haven’t been working for a month and have been waiting on funding to set up in self employment.
Shame, because I’d like to have gone.

July 24, 2006 at 2:54 pm #1083402Only caught the last day (managed to get in without the exchange of notes) but I really enjoyed it.
Great little festi with reasonable prices. Excellent people and a good vibe. Couldn’t find GV23 loitering in the reggae tent unfortunately, maybe he overdid it a little the first two days.
Dreadzone were wicked and the Inner-Yes stack was sounding the best I’ve ever heard it with the new Aspect tops. raaa raaa raaa raaa
I’ll be back next year if they do it again.
July 25, 2006 at 8:24 am #1083407yeah, had a good time too.. altho there were a few teething probs being the first year (early curfews on most rigs, hard as nails security etc)
I was about on the Sunday Bio, had my fone switched off tho, got yer message early on monday.. sorry!
the reggae tent was havin it all weekend, PAIN rocked it on the sunday, as did Tarantism, Monkeyspanner and others who’s names escape me at the mo..
personally speaking i thought the dance tent and main stage shoud have swapped rigs.. the main stage sounded a bit muddy when ever i went down there.. but thats only my opinion..
Lets hope next year is all go for Haze 2, there are far too few fests around these parts, they need supporting!

Damn. I was about in the reggae tent. Caught a fair bit of PAIN, who were wicked. Should have kept my eyes open a bit more but I just assumed yo were holed up in a tent somewhere.

I was only there for the Sunday but the main stage was sounding lovely when dreadzone were on, really tight bass and the top end was crystal and so efficient considering the amount of aspect cabs (they are amazing).
Agreed though, the dance tent rig was lush too. Mr **** has certainly come a long way with his system in just a few years. raaa

Hmmm Mr ****??? does that rhyme with sh*t?? that wasnt his if thats who you mean????? the martin rig is Fleeces … errr Pyramid Hire maybe? will have to check on that one
I was dancing to PAIN bud, must have just missed you!
the main stage must have improved some then (tbh i have heard that rig sound the nuts in the past)
July 25, 2006 at 12:53 pm #1083398BioTech wrote:Yes. I heard there were a few ‘problems’ :hopeless:heard similar reports about Glade.
Apparently since the SIA regulations were introduced there are rumours within the festival security industry that CID are everywhere in legal festivals (actually probably true as there were loads in Reading festival and Womad) – if they see security being “too lenient” they turn them in to the SIA (security industry authority) and the crews can lose their cards.
Also been looking at a few sites frequented by the “security industry” and there are a lot of wannabe cops amongst their number.
Doubtless all this is a result of our local plod wanting “robust action against the drugs culture as part of the “Summer of Zero Tolerance”.
Also (having been a steward myself) council staff are often milling around (and many are our age and in street clothes, not obvious official types) checking sound levels etc, curfews etc..
problem is that with our fucked up divided society licenses are never granted willingly and they have to keep the levels down to please the nimbys; even though festivals are hardly done every weekend..
Good to hear it was otherwise a decent festival though…

No no, I didn’t mean Mr Shits. Sorry, the Mr might have mislead you.
Pyramid eh? They’ve been around for ages if that’s the same pyramid. Nah, someone told me it was…. (PM)
GL: It was more a case of people getting violently ejected from the site so I heard (for very silly reasons). I had trouble getting in the bloody place and I had a crew wristband on.

TBH I think they recruit the wrong sort of people for security without adequate training; reckon some get envious at seeing people having fun (or their minds are warped by steroids etc which have that effect) and just decide to fuck up someones weekend… because they have the power they use it.
