Can anyone tell me the best, free and easy way to rip DVD to AVI or WMV?

It’s not for dodgy purposes, I just want to rip some of my legitimately purchased DVD’s so I can play them on my Archos.

I have Nero but (even though I haven’t looked) I’m assuming it doesn’t deal with this sort of thing.

Can anyone recommend a free program?

Just had a look at that page and it looks like it only rips to .iso to burn. Do you know if it does avi and wmv?

You want to use: Dvd Decrypter and Autogordian Knot!

I could be out of date on these things, no doubt your suggestions are better…

A combination of DVD Decrypter & Autogordian Knot seem to be doing the trick. I wont know until AGK has finished encoding though. It’s 6% of the way through it’s second pass after running it for 1hr in total.

Well, it kinda worked. Although the video was at twice the speed and the audio started half way through at standard speed.

I’ll have to try it again some day.
