I’m not too into the screaming wubwub shit (maybe if i’m dancing and had a few bumps of K…) but I love chilling to some proper dubstep with nice reggae samples or fairly trancey/ambient stuff.
March 7, 2012 at 2:46 pm #1247262Love dirty filthy dubstep, especially after a few doobies. Just gives me brain tingles when it drops.
March 7, 2012 at 8:12 pm #1247259I like Skream, digital mystikz, burial, and james blake, the old stuff. Not this wubwubwub skrillex-and-his-kin type crap. I listen to music for enjoyment, not to hear the Transformers having an orgy.
March 7, 2012 at 8:55 pm #1247239The music seems to be all about the midrange nowadays – harsh, screaming synths that smack you in the face, rather than the deep bass and grooving drums of earlier dubstep. I like hearing the odd tune in a breaks set or something just to change the mood up a bit, but after a couple of tracks I just find it loud and boring.
I guess the midrange-heavy sound comes across better on crappy PC speakers, iPod earbuds, Youtube and phones, which is how most of the kids nowadays are listening to music. I’m not sure some people know what <80Hz sounds like anymore! Sometimes I'll go round to students' houses and they'll be like "check out the bass on this!" and the track will have a fairly weak sub, but a ton of distorted, wobbly nonsense over the top of it.
March 9, 2012 at 10:23 am #1247263Nothing great in that music and I also suggest not to play in the party’s.
March 31, 2012 at 1:19 am #1247264i just don’t get it, i get sent loads of it on soundcloud to listen to but none of my mixes have anything like dubstep in them!!! to be honest i would not have fucking clue where to even attempt mixing it
April 10, 2012 at 3:34 pm #1247265Dubstep is just noise to my ears, i agree with most of you, i can deal with it in moderation. as for a party purely dedicated to dubstep, nonononono 🙁

I had the same attitude towards dubstep, but [OHOI] a Copenhagen based Dub/dubstep SoundSystem/PartyOrganisers they have a set up that mostly kicks ass and is faraway from what we normal tag as dubstep….dubstep is not my kind of music but there are fair exceptions that makes me wanna party, it have to be hard though, very much so…
April 10, 2012 at 3:50 pm #1247236Some facts about OHOI! ;
OHOI! consists of 2000F, Kristobal, JSL, Tim Driver and newest member Georg Rasmussen, and they are considered amongst the absolute leaders and most visionary in Scandinavia. Together, they have received a multitude of awards and nominations, including: “Event of the Year”, “Club of the Year”, “Copenhageners of the Year”, “Promoter of the Year” and “DJ of the Year”. They have, collectively and separately, played all over Denmark and Europe at clubs, raves and festivals.
Furthermore, they have supported acts such as The Prodigy, The Streets, Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal and many more; as well as opened the 2005 edition of the legendary Roskilde Festival.
As event organizer, OHOI! kickstarted the entire bass culture in Denmark with events no one had ever seen the likes of. From small underground events to the most talked about club nights and raves in Denmark and Scandinavia – including the annual mega clubbing event RAW, Bas Under Buen and Danish Sound Clash Championship – OHOI! has set the marker of Danish clubbing culture in many years to come. Currently, OHOI! is also affiliated with the electronic music festival Strøm, the Danish National Broadcast, the Copenhagen-based venue Pumpehuset and academic research on pirate radio.
Additionally, the OHOI! crew are not only known as event organizers and DJs, but also for productions and one-of-a-kind dubplate specials featuring some of the biggest names in the industry.
Producing, engineering and remixing for both local and international talent led to the launch of Kraken Recordings in 2006 – Denmark’s first dubstep record label. A platform, which gave OHOI! the possibility to push the music further and to confirm the radical change in music and club environment bass culture has had over the recent years.
With an unimaginable energy, OHOI! over and over again stands up tall when it comes to introducing the freshest new sounds in bass music – from home and abroad.
