This is a thread for talking about the thing you hate…

I just got home from the pub where I had a few hours with mates I aint seen for a fortnight or so, wanna party now! Everybody’s gettin old (23 through 35) and I just wanna stay young! :annoyed:
This always happens to me midweek. Now I’m destined to sit at home counting my £6.38p because nobody’s having a late one!
Rrant over!
April 25, 2006 at 8:18 pm #1071646and I thought Norfolk was more “happening” than Suffolk – that is way too early IMO even if you didn’t want to be up until the early hours because of work surely people could stay until 22:00 or so?
here in Ipswich its like its on curfew or something; even the chavs and gary boys seem to be in bed by 22:00. Its good when I cycle late at night as there is no traffic, but it does seem totally dead here sometimes (apart from townie places like Liquid/Zest where I am not prepared to go to)
mind you it does seem people settle early here. I see a lot of families where the couple seems to be only in their early 20s and they have two or more kids in a buggy and a collection of dogs (usually small yappy terriers) – fair enough if people want to do that but its gonna mean you have to spend a lot of your life working and looking after them so less time for partying.
April 25, 2006 at 8:45 pm #1071706I don’t live in a town so nobody is ever out part from on weekends….

I hate shaving! I do you know. I’ve got 7 days growth on me chops at the minute. I work nights so its not really much of a problem, except for my partner who moans bout shaving rash. Gonna get rid of it in morning so i look clean and fresh for the weekend, but by monday I’ll be a hairy buggar again… :crazy_diz
July 7, 2006 at 10:29 am #1071669Yes, I hate shaving too, but facial growth makes me feel dirty. I tend to leave it 2/3 days between shaves. I can’t complain though, because I didn’t need to shave too regularly until my mid-twenties.
What would you rather have to put up with: shaving or menstruation? My ex-partner and I regularly argued about whose gender martyrdom was the greater.July 7, 2006 at 10:35 am #1071729gotta love the baby face, my moles have lil sprouts that need tendering

July 7, 2006 at 5:14 pm #1071647I always use a cheap Bic type razor and have never had any real problems (other than inevitable minor cuts) despite having sensitive skin.
July 7, 2006 at 6:41 pm #1071664shaving gives me a gross rash on my neck especially, so i don’t do it
i use the clippers with no guard method to stop me becoming a big beardy…
luckily for me my better half loves the look

They do a much better job, last a lot longer and cost the same price…

Don’t agree…. (with the Dr – I do agree that sprouting barbed wire fur on the face/neck is a bugger, and we should have come up with something that removes it permanently by now. Also, I have come to the conclusion that whoever came up with aftershave in it’s current form probably invented it while enjoying an evening hanging by his nipple rings from the ceiling…:you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy:crazy_fre:crazy_fre:crazy_fre)
I get a horrible rash with most razors (and I don’t want to remember the last time I used a razor more than once….:hiding:.)
Best razor I’ve found is that vibrating wet razor that gillette do (mach3 I think it’s called), but I still don’t shave more than once a week (got a weeks growth at the mo, and it’s past the point where it’s more uncomfortable to be furry than shave it off.)
Worst bit is people keep giving me advice, as if I haven’t gone through the discomfort of discovering none of them work…:head_bang:head_bang:head_bang (you know – variously: really hot water (or cold, or some combo of hot then cold etc), shave with the grain (or against, again depending on who is giving the advice), shave every day (these are the people who usually insist you’re not trying, and that a bit of persistence would magically get rid of the problem:mad_curse:mad_curse:mad_curse)
I’m fairly sure I’ve tried most of the supposed remedies for shaving rash, and the only reliable ones are not shaving very often, and always using a sharp new blade IMO. As long as I leave it a week between, the rash only lasts a day or so.
So yes, I will definetly add a voice to “I HATE SHAVING!”
Don’t think I feel better for knowing you get it even worse Andy, but you have my sympathies…:flowers::flowers::flowers:
