March 17, 2011 at 3:51 pm #1236581March 17, 2011 at 5:39 pm #1236602Trance was the first genre I got into years ago when I first started getting into music. First music CD I bought was a Gatecrasher Album. I still like to listen to it to chill out but Im much more of a hardcore head now. Im more into my UK Hardcore/Gabber/DnB.
Cant get enough ‘heaviness’. 😉
March 17, 2011 at 5:43 pm #1236571Anyone who doesn’t like trance should listen to all of Above&Beyond’s music. I love it personally, even better when you’re on the pingers!!! raaa
March 17, 2011 at 6:18 pm #1236560I’m with Kdr. There is good and bad in all music (some worse than others) and if you aren’t uptight about it then you can enjoy lots of different stuff. All down to personal taste though…. grime and opera I struggle to find any worth in for example.
Not really digging much trance these days and psy doesn’t really do it for me, but the mid to late 90’s stuff had quite a few gems in. It’s “of it’s time” though really. I can understand people who didn’t experience it at the time thinking it sounds cheesy… much like old school.

This is a gem of a mix from 1995 (with the exception of the 1st track on Tongs mix which is warmup crap)

July 11, 2011 at 7:30 pm #1236593don’t really listen to trance anymore. Doesn’t tickle my fancy much. Minimal techno & acid techno are more my cuppa tea

me neither just psy but i still like the other trances, especially a bit of euphoria occasionally for full on bliss.
July 11, 2011 at 8:43 pm #1236594of cause psy chill, but i dunno, most forms of trance i find boring now. Don’t even listen to psytrance anymore, bored of it
July 11, 2011 at 9:32 pm #1236577I would not classify psychill as trance as it is breakbeat
July 11, 2011 at 9:42 pm #1236595no no was refuring to it out of the psy topic that just popped up :p
but yeah more breakbeaty, than 4×4July 12, 2011 at 2:02 am #1236574you need to listen to some mood deluxe for fat psytrance and psybreaks!
July 12, 2011 at 2:08 am #1236596i ve heard them before, there pretty good. I had a load of there stuff on my laptop. Psybreaks is cool stuff
July 12, 2011 at 8:22 am #1236578Mood deluxe is awesome
Also it’s a ‘he’. In fact 99.9% of electronic music acts are a ‘he’. This should be the default pronoun. Very occasionally it is a ‘them’, and even more rarely it is a ‘she’.
And even when it’s a ‘them’ (e.g. shpongle, prodigy) there is still actually really only one guy doing all the work.Me and some mates were chatting the other day and trying to figure out why there are barely any female producers or stand up comedians. I reckon it’s an alpha male thing, wanting to be the centre of attention.
July 12, 2011 at 9:18 am #1236597I stand corrected then.
