I can’t play back a “drug friendly” track at work but even if its US cheese there was plenty of similar crap in the early 90s during our rave boom. thankfully it and the artists involved have been forgotten over the decades.

I’m inclined to let the Americans have their fun while it lasts, as if they carry on doing mixtures of poor MDMA and RC’s and mixing plastic gangsta urban culture with kandy kid crowds in a country full of angry people (some with guns) who at the same time try and elude any sort of sensible health and safety precautions for large crowd events to make a few more $$$$ some bad shit is sure to happen at a EDM event there one day.

That is if it hasn’t already (I am aware of a few unpleasant things such as OD’s, sexual assaults etcand has just been covered up due to skint councils taking venue hire outs from anyone (which is the real reason why EDM is taking off in some liberal areas of the USA, notfrom a genuine love and acceptance of the music by a wider community).

Even the Germans and Dutch fucked up bad at Loveparade 2010 – due to a backlash against drug culture in NL and a relocation of the Loveparade from Berlin to a border area with NL they ended up trying to fit two countries worth of party folk into one space which wasn’t big enough for it). People died in the resulting crush and if two of the most organised countries in Europe can fuck up in that manner thats a harsh lesson to the whole world that large crowd safety doesn’t come cheap (to be fair both nations have learned and moved on and doing a far better and safer job with event management)
