MungoJuly 7, 2011 at 6:04 pm #1241761Everything I experience happens because I choose to create it, so yes ;P

MungoSelf realisation I guess 😛 Long story, read ‘conversations with god’ by neil walsch if you’re really interested in the philosophy. It’s probably not for everyone though

even if I burn your house down?
July 8, 2011 at 9:41 am #1241767I do often experience this. Especially about minor aliments. If I say I haven’t had an ulcer in ages, the next day I would get one. There must be something my body subconsciously recognizes to indicate this.
Slightly similar… When I was about 5 I went to Germany to visit relatives. I had never been there before. When we first arrived at my relatives house I asked to use the toilet. They were about to show me where it was but I said OK I know and went straight to it….
I totally freaked my family out!
July 8, 2011 at 12:16 pm #1241773My boss is ridiculously good at this, I call him psychic haha. Really all it is is that he pays a lot of attention, is good at noticing patterns and taking into account many variables. What it results in is him (cockily) making fast driving decisions that could go very wrong if his gut feeling isn’t right, and always getting away with it. He never puts a seatbelt on until 15 seconds before a squad car appears around the corner, with such a degree of success it’s scary. It will bit him in the arse one day though.

yes, the experience of having your house burnt down and the experience of burning down someone’s house are both parts of the tapestry of existence and need to be experienced, and both experiences I will choose infinite times in infinite varieties.
Obviously ‘I’ would be annoyed if ‘you’ did this to me right now in this subset of reality but if this annoyance did not occur anywhere then the joy of retaining one’s possessions would be meaningless. Relativism over absolutism. Variety is the spice of life. Suffering is essential to the purpose of existence.
Of course everything I just said is total bullshit to a hardcore materialist, so feel free to form an orderly queue to tell me to stop spouting hippy tat

But surly not everything you experience is a concious choice so a fair bit of the time it is not a choice you are making it is a subconscious reaction you have no real control over? Or am I totally missing the point (quite possible)

I never said its because people dont want me there. But it does, to a limited extent, reflect my lack of good friends on the board as otherwise people would have at least made a vague attempt to include me. But there were not that many dates people could do and I am not massively popular on the board. I will cope/couldn’t give a fuck.
PS I am aware that putting it like that makes it sound like I do indeed care but I cannot think how to put it better. I also guess it hurts a little but only in the sense that I wish I were someone I am not.
Mate it’s nothing to do with the fact that people dislike you … it’s quite the opposit. Just if we didn’t set a date and stick to it we’d be discussing this shit for another 4 years and eventualy never go. We took the date most people could make and rolled with it (there were a few people who said early aug was the best time for them). I feel bad you can’t make it as it was your idea (but tbh you’re holiday sounds much better then sitting in a manky field for 2 days :P)

I think my comments can largely be attributed to my exceptionally low mood that day. One day I will learn to recognise this at the time rather than retrospectively (I hope).

We all get bad days mate. 😉
I’m sure that if all goes well (and I’m sure it will) there will be more camping outings anyway. 🙂

If I consider my consciousness and other people’s consciousness subsections of the same thing then I’m definitely not going to make a distinction between the conscious and subconscious in my own brain. It’s all part of the same process.
I know what you mean though I’m mostly being facetious in this thread the thing that society defines as ‘me’ doesn’t really have total control over everything it encounters
July 12, 2011 at 12:00 pm #1241805Yeah it is strange, and when you go to a place and you swear youve been there before, maybe in a dream or something!
July 13, 2011 at 3:48 pm #1241802hi Mushroom19 ,
Yes ive had that as well ……strange how some places feel so familiar yet you’ve never been there . Also events that have happened i have some times dreamt about before they happen and then they happen !!! . Maybe thats more that when you dream your trying to sort out the days events etc , i reckon some times your brain dreams the mostly likely event and hey presto it happens …..you think how many dreams you have in a life time……it cant be wrong all the time 🙂 .regards

MungoMy theory is that dreaming is ‘trying shit out’. Your subconscious mind throws random combinations of concepts and events at you and your dream consciousness reacts to it. Then if you encounter it in real life you already have some experience of it. Many a time I’ve had a dream of something I’ve never encountered in real life and have woke up knowing it either made me happy or uncomfortable, and you know whether to avoid or seek out the situation in real life, and you have a bit of a head start if you do encounter it.
So dreaming is something your brain does to prepare yourself for reality as best as possible during down-time. It’s a survival mechanism. Hence if you dream something and it occurs, that just mission accomplished on your brains part.
Thats just my theory anyway.. anyone got any better ideas? 😛
July 13, 2011 at 9:35 pm #1241783my dreams are normally just memorys combined in some wacky manner and thrown at me with comical value. fucked up

Hi All ,
This happens to me not so much now but still does , but do you ever find yourself knowing whats about to happen before it does ? . For an example and it happens mostly when im driving , but in other situations as well . For example i was driving along a road past a row of houses , i see this kid come around the corner on a push bike and some how with out seeing i know the second kid isnt gonna make the turn on the foot path and end up falling in the road . This i saw all before it happened and before i knew there was a second kid . Yet still i moved out to the center of the road even though the first kid had passed me .Some call it a sixth sense ? but do any of you out there have experiences that are similiar ? , give us a few stories just to let me know im not a freak !!!!!
