yesterday I was trying to ID a rave track with vocals.
Admittedly a bit of cheesy happy hardcore, but I was deliberately looking for something light-hearted to try and take my mind off the worlds situation…
anyway the search string I used was “tears run cold”… just three words and a phrase that could turn up in stacks of angst-ridden poetry, songs of other genres and other random writings on the web..
but within the 1st page google came up with the track I wanted:
“Tears Run Cold” by DJ Sy and Demo.
what was even more amazing is that the same track was in so many peoples playlists and web content worldwide….. clearly it was popular in the USA as well, but also in Japan, Finland, Singapore (yes, singapore!)
so perhaps rave and associated urban music genres, pioneered in Great Britain, are now becoming the dominant youth sub-culture of the world….
Britain has managed to become a a world leader in something positive (OK there are drugs, but there are drugs used in all music scenes) …. and what to our authorities try to do? criminalise the scene because “its a bit noisy”
