Vinyl on the other hand…yeah there is a wide range of techniques that there is an ‘art’ to, so i’m baffled how anyone can say vinyl DJ’s aint artists! He is refering to anyone who calls themselve a DJ but doesn’t produce their own tracks. Can wait for the deadmou5 bubble to burst. See how he copes without everyone licking his bottom.
March 3, 2013 at 3:40 pm #1268331Allright wow he is full of himself eh
March 3, 2013 at 3:47 pm #1268310Deadmou5;
Am i really such an arrogant, ego centric, jerkoff, hypocritical dumbshit? You can believe that if you wish, because we don’t know each other. I had the balls to speak my mind freely and say what I felt. What will you stand up for today?Yeah, when you see things like this on his facebook page, it really makes you wonder about his eggo. Fair enough people don’t know him. That is the point people don’t see the real person behind the celeb, and that’s why you have to make a good public impression otherwise you will be called arrogant. it has been the way of the celeb world for donkeys years.
With that comment is he saying that he is the only person who has the balls to speak his mind? I dunno I’m not getting his motivation really. I wish I could have know what was going on in deadmou5 world when he wrote this. it was in 2012
March 3, 2013 at 3:50 pm #1268342We need to release the hounds on him

Although in both cases there is often overuse of automation (exactly what he is being berated for), there is still skill required for this. All the laptop DJ’s I know started out on vinyl, but it is now expensive and heavy to carry around and the music industry has been downsized loads since the last 20-30 years. Radio DJ’s had to use vinyl for many years and also analogue tape cartridges and tape which came on big spools (there were of course multiple ways these can go wrong and make the DJ look like an idiot), and a proper radio station mixer used in a legal station is way bigger and more complex than a DJ mixer.
Its true anyone can “have a go” at it, but doing it well is not so easy.
I woke up today to find 4 silence detector warnings on my blackberry from the community radio studio (this is when there is more than 5 seconds silence) and I only set the thing up last night. So now I have to download the Ofcom logger file for when this happened and see if can find what caused the silence, whether a presenter pressed the wrong button, was slow for a track running out or there is flaky equipment. It could be any of these things as that station runs on a tiny budget with volunteer staff (yet they still must pay copyright license fees).
The tyfusrat should be thankful for the gigs and money he did get and keep his gob shut, unless he has something useful to say.
March 3, 2013 at 4:13 pm #1268322If art is “raising emotion in the observer” then technically flicking a switch and changing somebody’s emotions qualifies as art.
Even if he’s right, he’s still wrong. 🙂
Now, where did I put that taser… <- this is of course a joke.

This is what we need to do, we need to starve Felix da Housecat for a couple of days and then let him go out and catch and eat DeadRat!
March 3, 2013 at 10:17 pm #1268332Anything to bring good ol’ Felix back, then we might get some results lol.
DJs are most absolutely artists, but many mainstream DJs just play the same tracks, so you have to consider that success doesn’t necessarily mean good art. Granted, they got where they did, but popular DJs unfortunately just become a reflection of underground’s top 40. I don’t want to hear four ppl’s version of bass cannon in the same night, it gets old. Especially when it continues to happen at the next major event.
DJs like Madlib, specifically the Medicine Show series, is a clear demonstration of what the art should be. If you can DJ Brazilian Funk for an hour, you’ve got my voucher.

March 6, 2013 at 11:08 pm #1268316erm this deadmau5 dj bashing honestly was about 4 years ago!!
i saw deadmau5 before he blew up in 2008 at hyde park before fatboy slim. he played a really good set and it was banging.
where i think deadmau5 went wrong is because he mostly only played his own music (COS HE HAS A THOUSAND SONGS WHICH ALL SOUND THE SAME, TRUST ME I WAS 18-19 ONCE AND DJ’ed A LOT OF HOUSE A LISTENED TO A LOT… REMIX x 1000 OF SONGS). He thought well because i dj my own music im better than you.. BLAH BLAH. the fact of the matter is, if someone thinks all your songs sound shit, you’re a bit fucked aren’t you Zimmerman!
Oh and as for the mouse head… seriously the guy is ugly as fuck and i don’t like throwing in superficial comments cos they’re cheap but i’m feeling cheap and the general consensus on youtube (videos of pictures of him looking utterly foul) said he was an ugly fucker and… I’m only describing what I saw…. I mean if i showed you a picture of pat butcher from eastenders (now dead on the show) you’d say WELL FIT obviously !! so i’m just describing what i saw and other people… he was probably bullied so when his music took off he got a ‘holier than you’ complex. There’s a bit of long term p0ly deadmau5 knowledge for you.
Log you shudda seen the outrage when it first came out!
In a way i sort of agree creativity wise but then i use my head and think.. fuck off dead MOUSE…. yeah you’re pretty dead now… though nice synth work on clockwork (CLOCKWORK ORANGE WOOOO ALEX DELARGE WHAT A DROOG HE WAS).
I still mix this tune occasionally too…

March 7, 2013 at 7:18 am #1268313You think some hypnotic regression might help?
I was thinking bout that right, if you went to have a regression session (rhyme) and got them to ask you what happened in the K hole or while travelling hough the DMT plain would you be able to remember?
March 7, 2013 at 8:00 am #1268318probably not man… especially with the k there’s nothing to remember it just disconnects you to fuckery
