Hi musicians out there! (well, and anyone who’s not indifferent to music)
Your support is badly needed for this unique charitable project aimed at the improvements of children’s music education:
Contemporary music project for children
In case of fundraising success – a special music book will be published and sent for free to music schools all over the world.
Let’s help this happen!! :bounce_fl

True, you’d have to have at least one black and one Asian kid on the cover nowadays lol
May 30, 2013 at 10:01 am #1273605to be fair, there are good reasons for that (and the 1970s ones had multicultural pictures on them, at least where you could easily find a multicultural school, if it was produced in a rural area of a European nation the communities aren’t always as mixed).
those of us who grew up in the 1970s Europe had this sort of music education. It is now not as common in the UK and mainly English speaking nations (though I suspect it is still a big part of education in mainland Northern Europe).

Its a project I think is a good idea but PETA and friends could have been a bit less “hard sell” with the marketing and then this would not have happened.
Also though its a common female given name it also confuses things as I expected an animal rights campaign, a proper introduction would have stopped this…
in any case there was not too long ago a time when the economy was better and many classical musicians would have judged us as “druggie scum” in spite of many EDM artists having a classical music background, but the truth is a lot of folk on here these days are older and parents with young children who are approaching school age and might well welcome this.
if their project is successful (my personal view is that the crowdfunding should have have been requested over a longer timescale but I think the rules are set by the crowdfunding websites) given that its also co-funding a commercial project for musicians it would be better to send the book to all junior/elementary schools in the world, and provide copies to the Education Departments, not just “specialist music” ones whose pupils are usually from middle class backgrounds anyway (at least this is what this term means in British English, I appreciate the project comes from mainland Europe).

In this case the funding goal would have had to be waaaay higher…
