pear cider is where its at!
November 22, 2007 at 9:46 pm #1125106I will drink pear cider but usually in place of an irn bru before uni or when I get up. If I’m out on the lash the only pear cider I’ll drink is propper perry like the westons stuff.
Its like 7.5% and more cidery rather than juicey.

March 11, 2010 at 11:23 am #1125134Not a cider drinker myself- but the other half loves Thatchers ‘Katy’, i think its quite strong an all. He only has it summer though, ice cold too. We have a supermarket chain round our way called Booths, and they do some cracking unusual bottles of cider.
I am drinking loads of an ace sparkling Pino Grigio from Aldi at the mo. Its a fiver a bottle and lovley. I think ts up there with some decent champagnes!
Cheese wise, i don’t think it gets better than some good old Bowland. For those that hae not had it, well its kinda like an elevensies (you know, them cakey breakfast bar thangs) in cheese format. That on a Hovis bisc and a glass of above mentioned vino and i am as happy as a pig in shit.
Best drink ever is a well made Mojito though, which i guess is just a boozey/minty Sprite at the end of the day.

Have I tried buckfast? I have a serious stomach problem from drinking it every day for months. Now I can’t drink it although I have the occasional tipple when I’m already shitfaced.
I ove bucky. Introduced it a group of French people last year who actually liked it as well as being amazed at english making wine.
One thing I miss about the SW is cider. I’m back in the thames valley where strongbow is popular 🙁 I miss being able to pop into any corner shop and get a choice of decent cheap ciders.
