January 16, 2007 at 10:42 am #1098039no mate, thats a giant rabbit, that is…:weee:
There are various ‘giant breeds’, but i wouldnt keep one myself. If it got upset with you, you would know it!
Having been assaulted by a rabbit in the past (around a quarter of the size and weight of this German bunny), i know how aggresive they can be.
They do this thing where they leap up in the air, and do a kind of flying drop kick, whilst pissing on you! Its horrendous, cause their back legs are so powerful.
The 10 kilo version doesn’t bear thinkin about…
If you follow the link there is more info, as well as a rabbit stew recipe, which is a bit harsh.:hopeless: rabbits are for life, not for breakfast!

January 16, 2007 at 2:04 pm #1098033o.m.g…and …so cute …
January 16, 2007 at 5:49 pm #1098042Look at the size of its feet!
It isn’t steroids, there are quite a few breeds of giant rabbit. There is a breed called British Giants, and another called Flemish Giants, and another called German Giants, like the one in the picture (i think).
If anyone is interested in keeping rabbits, i would recommend the Rabbit Welfare Association (formerly the British House Rabbit Association), as a source of info. They have a really great magazine, full of the latest info on looking after em.
PS Rabbits are not suitable pets for children, thats a really unfortunate myth, which leads to a great deal of suffering.
To be fair, that is the biggest rabbit i have ever seen, apparently he is called Herman, and he is nearly 1metre tall!:weee:
I’ve been searchin on giant rabbits, and there is a Continental Giant called Roberto, who is nearly 4 feet long and weighs 27lbs. Thats 5 lbs heavier than Herman, and nearly a foot longer!
January 16, 2007 at 9:42 pm #1098035Think I may have nightmares where I am being chased by giant bunnies with big pointy teeth tonight…:groucho:
Would not like to meet those cute bunnies in a dark alley …..:scared:
