This is the one where the 71% quote in my sig came from
http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=7007
I answered these totally truthfully – not trying to make an “ironic statement” or anything like that – and got two in a row with similar results..
there’s quite a few of these on the net actually…..
what does worry me is a lot of the questions/answers just relate to being in a family which didn’t originally have a lot of money….
when I was a kid my parents were recent immigrants living in South East London who were scraping a living, it wasn’t until the 80s really they built themselves up to move to more “up-market” places and lifestyles such as buying more expensive brands…..
My dad virtually worked himself to death to do so – and then one of these surveys diss the funeral directors we used (my family used co-op funeral directors partly because I’m a socialist and always encouraged the work of the co-op group!)
how fucked it that, they have more brand snobbery in them than so-called chav culture!
and on both “liking drum and bass” (my favourite genre of urban music) adds to the chav factor…
the only thing I don’t do nowadays which chavs are supposed to is give people attitude or violence of any kind though – but according to these self-appointed judges of character everything else I have done is chavvy
fuck it – I guess I am a chav deep down after all….
so later 2nite I is off 2 meet my bredrins and biatches 2 go ravin n do bare drugs n get mash up innit..

Is this a trick question though…..
Did you know the capital of Australia is Sydney?
Because YES and NO don’t actually work in that question.

Good Good :ty_ty:July 19, 2005 at 11:06 pm #1066341was thinking about this at lunchtime in Burger King (!) today (they were playing 80s tracks on the tape, perhaps their in-store music actually hasn’t been updated since 1987….:biggreen: )
a lot of the chav phenomenon is actually straight from British urban lifestyles in the 1980s and early 1990s!
In fashion terms and acceptance of drug culture its extremely similar to a mixture of the “casual” and “old skool raver” from those days. (yes, you can guess what I was in school/6th form….)
So why are todays “chavs” seen as so dysfunctional?
perhaps the difference is that back in the 1980s and 90s there was actually some hope for urban youth (however false) – you actually thought you could either follow the “yuppies” and end up in some office job whilst still partying, perhaps you could be the next grooverider or fabio, or get a job in the media as a music journalist or working on one of the “yoof TV” projects that had a brief heyday in the 80s to mid 90s……
but now the office jobs are outsourced, the media jobs downsized and the “big money” DJ circuit restricted to the “old guard” whilst smaller commercial clubs are squeezed by licensing restrictions………
so maybe all thats left when the hope is gone are the drugs to provide artificial dreams and a bit of crime and aggro for the excitement….
July 20, 2005 at 9:23 am #106636433% wow thought i would of got more than that living in chav central!!

July 20, 2005 at 8:46 pm #1066354There is one final question you’re given upon reaching 99% in order to obtain the true honour of being 100% proof……….In two words what has the man done for the world A) Fuck all B) Everything init
