March 6, 2008 at 6:09 pm #1157210cats, but I would keep a dog if I was older/in a stable relationship etc as a substitute for children (it is cheaper to look after, more faithful, and if it produces offspring immediately after puberty you can sell them for a good price without annoying run-ins with the authorities)
spark_plug wrote:actually….theres one breed of cat i like. bengal cats, they’re half spots, half stripes.they are part SE Asian wildcat, but then again so are most of the “pet” cats in SE Asia 😉
if you get a cat and a dog this can also improve your house security, as dogs fall asleep for long periods like we do, and it has been known for a cat to wake up the dog (and for both to alert the rest of the house) when there are intruders/security risks or the building is on fire…
But the cat and dog can also work together to rob food (such as the cat climbing on a large dogs back and using it as a ladder/springboard) so it can get up to high places that neither animal could reach.
The cat then pushes down items of human food “safely” stored up on those shelves, which are then shared by the two animals.
This happened to a friend of mine, it took her a while to work out how lamb chops put on top of a tall cupboard were still being stolen (a pattern of muddy paw prints were the giveaways).
