What does every1 drive??? i wanna know what you drive, what you think of the car, how reliable it is???
Also what car did you drive before that??? How reliable???
What woz the most un-reliable car you’ve had???Basically my first car was a clio,(96) paid hundred quid for it, had the top end rebuilt then never had a problem, until some crime scene investergater crashed into me just because the prick couldnt find his radio station!!
So i went and bought a citroen ax, it was £200 and pretty good nick! the weekend after i got it i drove it to the wales party and back (from oxford) and it didnt even blink an eyelid! people say french cars are crap but personally never had any bad experience with them!
I wanna find out what car is most reliable n which cars people have had plenty o shit with!!!
Also im looking at a saxo VTR, any 1 could tell me a bit bout this car would be gratful!!!
Safe
May 16, 2006 at 8:00 am #1073596Well basically i am still learning to drive but i am using a 1.2 corsa breeze, Which so far i have had no trouble with apart from the gear stik is like trying to mix up a bowl of mash, and the radio can be deceptive if you turn the volume down it dosnt turn off like usual ones so in the morning you end up with a flat battery. Apart from that it is sweet and have no complaints
May 16, 2006 at 9:05 am #1073597can recommend peugout; pretty forgiving and reliable
May 16, 2006 at 9:14 am #1073581I’ve got a Renault Master aka ‘the turbo turtle’ (ravers in a half shell!!).
My last (and first) car was a fiesta (‘uncle fester’) and was bought for me for £200 with 6 months tax and mot. I ran it into the ground, did a shit load of miles in it and it finally died about 1 week before everything ran out on it.
Tbh I reckon that Jap and German vehicles are the ones to own.

May 16, 2006 at 11:32 am #1073589Been without a car for a few months now, it sucks …
May 16, 2006 at 11:36 am #1073575I don’t drive at the moment – I’ve never needed to do so for work and TBH I can’t justify owning a car merely to go to raves; they are fun but not essential parts of my life.
OTOH I’m finally deciding to get a driving license (more because some of my family are 100+ miles away now) but TBH by the time I manage it (will probably take me about 2 years!) I reckon it will be way too risky to drive to raves (they can now revoke your license and take your car for non-motoring offences) and/or petrol will be too fucking expensive anyway!

May 16, 2006 at 1:16 pm #1073576PaulM wrote:WTF ! ! ! ! tell us more!the vehicle confiscation was (I think) part of the Police Reform Act 2005 and is normally used against cruisers/gary boys (its original intention).
the idea is that doing stuff like displaying a motor and/or making loads of engine noise etc isn’t often a traffic offence unless you are breaking the speed limit or endangering other road users.
so a law was passed which made using a motor vehicle to cause any kind of “annoyance, distress or alarm” an offence; one of the penalties being confiscation of the vehicle.
Recently the CPS lawyers who work with the Police have obviously realised the same penalty can be used against raves.
A mate of mine had his van taken for months and he had to plead for ages (that he needed it for work) to get it back; they also put a marker on its record it was used for illegal raves and for evermore afterwards the traffic cops were always on his case wherever he drove (one even told him – your van is registered as a “known rave unit”.
Traffic cops can also seize vehicles which they think are unroadworthy/unsafe and TBH any cop can seize anything under Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 if it “may have been used in crime”
Other crews have also had vehicles seized at raves.
Not sure how cops decide as its not obviously every car/van which is being taken but some are (perhaps they count how often each license plate is seen at each rave – or which vans are seen near stacks when they look at party photos.. not difficult to do with modern computer/surveillance kit)
The removal of driving licenses is something to do with ASBO terms and is relatively new. Its uncommon (at the moment) and I think it needs a higher burden of proof or evidence than just driving to a few raves – unless someone is also a dealer or does other crime during the week (most people who have been done like this are burglars)

Hahaha same as, 28 and I still don’t have a license, the mrs always had a car so I never bothered and before that I never saw the point, now things have changed, Im learning to drive!
Wonder who’ll pass first ?
May 16, 2006 at 2:14 pm #1073624I’ve got a Fiat Brava, and thats been the most reliable car I’ve ever had, had 92k on the clock when I got it about a year and a half ago, and now its got 136k, party wagon  – only cost has been when I’ve had to service and change tyres.
May 16, 2006 at 2:16 pm #1073591Just a car… A blue one. lol…
May 16, 2006 at 2:17 pm #1073574My old mans Audi A4 1.8T when he lets me 😉

Well I’ve still got to get another god-awful photo taken and sent off to HM Government as my provisional has long gone missing and that was before photocards..
TBH the whole thing is an absolute fucking nightmare and will remain so even when I do get a license ( I did take a test some years ago but failed and at the time didn’t have the money or inclination to try again). Its not freedom; its yet another set of responsibilities and hassles.
thing is though even when I do get a license I’m not going to drive to anywhere closer than Colchester unless I had stuff to carry for work or or maybe if my elder relatives wanted a lift somewhere.
I might drive to one or two legal festivals each year (which the way things are going will probably end up only in Scotland/Wales) but for reasons mentioned above won’t be driving to raves. The laws will only be harsher two more years down the line and it would be pointless spending all that time and money just to be taken off the road immediately afterwards.
Raves are a honeypot for traffic cops anyway, already some of my younger mates have had licenses revoked just for traffic violations around rave sites, clearly they were being watched as they left (isn’t there another law that young drivers who get two traffic violations in a row have to take a retest?)
It was only recently raves were more than 25 miles away from where you lived (and this is because they have pissed off so many people and all the venues have been rinsed bare)
before that I could easily cycle that distance and have done so in the Thames Valley where there are hills! Would have tried it here but no one does raves here (suffolk) any more. I’m no longer interested in owning a rig or DJ’ing so don’t have to worry about carrying loads of stuff
I don’t want to become unfit either if I get a car…
Ironically my old skool mates were all garys and twoccers and as a teen/youth I couldn’t wait to be able to drive!!
May 16, 2006 at 2:23 pm #1073607306 Estate.
Fun to drive and reasonably fast (for an estate), but big enough to get surfboards / bikes / tents / small livestock in.
May 16, 2006 at 2:26 pm #1073600im not a lazy cunt i have a bike better for the enviroment:wink:
May 16, 2006 at 2:47 pm #1073603306 HDi.
I’ve had it since it had 6000 miles on the clock and I’ll continue to have it forever I reckon. It drives like a posh go kart. I love it loads and loads and loads.

306 meridien 1.8 petrol, V plate
i also love it, although i’ve driven the poor thing into the ground, it’s pretty much worthless now 🙁 have done about 80,000 miles in it 😮
many happy memories from that motor too, i was without wheels for a couple of years due to financial realignments (ahem) so it genuinely represents freedom 😀
think i’m gonna have to finally jack it in though, it’s falling apart, dunno what to get next?
:S

Focus ST Andy. Give in to your inner wideboy. One of them politely waited behind me the other day while the bloke in front of me pulled over, I pulled in in turn and it absolutely fucking flew past me.
Or a new Civic.
<3 hatchbacks.

Innit.
They’re such fun to drive. Had mine for three years now, and still as happy with it as the day I bought it.
And for the record, 1.8i petrol XS, T reg. :biggreen:

I quite like the look of the 407 coupe.
Although not really as practical as the estate. So I’d like to get a van or something as well.
But I can barely afford to keep one vehicle on the road atm.
