May 15, 2012 at 10:14 pm #1253148I suspect its just the proxy being overloaded, but you are using a ISP what is actively supporting greater censorship, in an area full of students/freeloaders and with high internet traffic.
ISPs staff are way smarter and more ruthless than folk realise and NTL/virginmedia were experimenting with censorship/traffic control a decade ago. However its not like China or Iran (though US companies quietly work with these nations to refine their censorship software especially in a multicultural world where traffic/content anywhere may be in different languages) – you aren’t going to get feds to your door unless you are reselling stolen things for profit and even controversial political stuff is permitted, its just that things what use more bandwidth without making money for legit advertisers tend to randomly stop working at peak times.
May 16, 2012 at 5:08 am #1253157I’ll give you a link to a decent torrent for win vista, what version do you use? vista home basic or premium? (most likely basic if it came with the laptop).

May 16, 2012 at 1:08 pm #1253147BBC News – Pirate Pay torrent ‘blocker’ backed by Microsoft
A Russian company has developed software it says can disrupt and prevent people from downloading pirated content. Pirate Pay has been backed by Microsoft and has so far worked with Walt Disney Studios and Sony Pictures to stop “thousands” of downloads. The tool poses as real bit torrent users but then “confuses” peer-to-peer networks, causing disconnections. Critics argue that the method will be ineffective in the long term. The entertainment industry claims that the downloading of pirated material costs copyright holders billions of pounds in lost revenue every year. Last month, the British Phonographic Industry won a court battle to force UK internet service providers to block its customers from accessing high-profile piracy site The Pirate Bay.
May 16, 2012 at 2:18 pm #1253151Damn now, i’m butt hurt. I can hear my wallet screaming noooo. Looks like i’m not gonna be able to have whatever I want software wise pretty soon. Well i’m sure they somali pirates will have some new technology pretty soon, that turns out to be the new way to file share.
May 16, 2012 at 4:27 pm #1253156May 16, 2012 at 8:00 pm #1253159I can give you an invite to demonoid if you like as well if they still require one to join. (they are much better then pirate bay imo, much less chance of viruses as the torrents are vetted a lot of the time, it’s invite only and you get kicked off the site for uploading infected torrents. Make sure you read all the comments still to see what people say about the torrent, beware of false positives from certain anti virus that some people will say “THIS IS A VIRUS” … but then you can tell it’s not when about 20 other people explain to them it’s because it has a keygen in it or something and this is detected by certain virus software as being a virus.
May 17, 2012 at 3:41 am #1253152yeah cool that would be nice. Who edited the title BTW?? Or am I missing something?

I didn’t edit the title, but I removed the pic you attached as it had your full name on it.
May 17, 2012 at 7:43 am #1253154Oh really, where was the name?? No BTW I think it was me by mistake cos it came up in my cached titles for this website too. Were it says pirate PAY is obviously ment to be BAY, and as you know I made this thread a couple of days ago. Then if you click on DR B’s link to the news artical refering to microsofts new program, they are calling it pirate pay. So microsoft must have read this thread and ripped off the name I invented. I’m gonna sue them. I’m gonna have milli vanilli represent me in court, against microsofts team of lawyers. We should win no probs.
nahh I think it was just a typo, but how dare you remove my picture, i’m gonna have milli and vanilli sue you too.
