I agree, he’s really worried about it and keeps assuring us he’s not. The fellow doth protest too much, I think!

I nearly got caught out myself by similar ones on partyflock then realised that when you are reading something in a second language its best to double check everything.
In reality if Rupe is 16/17 there is nothing to worry about. He is too young and it would be ethically dubious and pointless either getting a real detective to pose as a 16 year old here. The only time they could ever justify this if if there was a real child safety issue associated with this forum and it would be far more likely that CEOP would contact us first to see if it could be resolved by any other means.
It would also be equally wrong for the cops to try and recruit a 16 year old as an informant to get info on raves unless these raves were themselves posing a major threat to teenagers – and anyway they don’t need to do anything like that as if Facebook is used for any part of the organisation they will hand over the info they want without having to do undercover stuff.
Also the end result of planning a unlicensed rave is thousands of people making a noise somewhere, which isn’t exactly easy to keep secret :laugh_at: and might be a nuisance but not a major threat, unlike stuff like well meaning but misinformed yoghurt weavers trying to shut down a power station (which has a variety of unintended consequences what could hurt many more people than raves or drugs).
This doesn’t mean that cops don’t monitor here but they know they can’t easily try the “dirty tricks” of the past as folk are wise to them (which is also what the joke is partly about).
