I’m doing a night with some mates in december that’s going to be funk, motown, ska etc and wondered if people could suggest some really good tunes that I could play.
I’m thinking along the lines of Blues Brothers- shake your tailfeather, Madness, etc. Doesn’t really matter what genre, just not dance.
What do you reckon?
November 16, 2006 at 7:44 pm #1094268Lovin a bit of Motown, theer is so much material its difficult to pick tracks, my interest started in the early 80’s in me full on Mod days so the first track that came to mind was –
Stevie Wonder – Uptight (Everything’s Alright) ..lovin that tune
You should ensure you have a delve into a bit of Northern Soul, you should never pass up the chance to check out _
Dobbie Grey – Out on the Floor – ..that piano line is timeless and should be sampled…now !!
