I’m not sure about Cambridge, but keep an eye out for Life4Land nights- they play Breakcore and Techno, etc.

As for Bury, 1foot Skank does every other fri in Studio3, sometimes its just reggae, other times its with Vega doing psy-trance and tekno.

I’ve got a night called Stomp in Studio3 every couple of months or so. We play a mashup of Old Skool/ Hardcore breakz/ Jungle/ Hardcore & Techno. The next one is on the 10th Nov with djs from Brains Kan, Coalition, Assassin, etc.

I’ve actually been asked today whether I’d like to do a Stomp in the Junction on the 2nd Feburary. So keep your eyes peeled for that!

Seems Cambridge is ripe for the taking!

We’re also hopfully doing a night in the junction on the 2nd Feb. Meltown- what do you reckon it needs to get a good night in that place? Whats the system like (haven’t been there since Warnings in 1998!).

Its always hard moving into a new area – student or not…

There’s always a bit of tension between students and locals in a uni area as on one side you get the students who feel they are “above everyone” because of their paper qualifications; but you also get locals who are prepared to fight and rob the students.

There were (and presumably still are) a lot of problems like this in Reading (where I used to live) and with a few exceptions its often two separate crowds (also the uni workloads are heavier these days)

There is also a lot of tension these days amongst groups of young people such as ravers even despite the “party drugs” – and a lot of thieves/blaggers around so many people aren’t like what they used the be a few years back where they’d welcome randoms into their existing circle of friends

Or often people are only welcomed if they’ve got something like drugs, rigs, lifts to parties – its a kind of co-dependency rather than real friendship sometimes. Being “stuck up” is sometimes a defence mechanism but people don’t realise or want to admit they are doing it.

Also because of (often overblown IMO!) paranoia over infiltration by old bill people who rave are often less welcoming to newbies/randoms than they used to be..

the systems ok, they always have more speakers for the club nights (although its no louder due to sound restrictions) dnt know if they are the junctions own speakers or if the’re brought in

its a good space tho always get a nice sound

an on the friday night side of things :weee: finialy bogie wonder land (the biggest disco night in the uk) has died an the music of fridays has been brought forward 20 years and now has quite a good line up each week

private party’s have died down a bit although there a couple of new crews comin in (inc mine when we’ve built the system) so im sure next summer will be as noisy as ever

any one know if fulborn warehouse is still goin on, herd the’d shut down (an havn’t been there for 6months or more) was a wicked location an on every fri & sat didnt usually play my kind of music tho

my dads their accountant at the moment ill have a word an ask about ne discounts they might do, what sort of tunes wud u play??
