To be honest, me being 16 is neither here nor there. I am up in North Yorkshire so haven’t been to one of their parties, but from what I read from balanced, intelligent members of both PartyVibe and SquatJuice – who’s opinions I respect – they really aren’t helping the scene.
Fair play hun, no mate you need to have a opinion , you need a voice in this world.
I am sure I did not give the impression that you should not have a opinion.
What I am trying to say is that I have experinced alot of free parties, and you undoubtly haven’t been there as long as myself and other I know. so you will not know about all the thing I have learnt and know. Does that make sense to you?

September 6, 2007 at 2:46 pm #1119428I have been to many a BK party, in fact was the party crew I started following, and yes they are usually banging. Like you say the vibe at their do’s is quite unique. But I think they are taking the fight the Babylon stuff to far. their signature tune ‘ show no fear to dirty Babylon’ I mean this does send out the message of fuck the ol bill and a lot of young and impressionable ravers take this as a call to arms

The primary guiding principle of Buddhist practice is the Middle Way which was discovered by the Buddha prior to his enlightenment (bodhi). The Middle Way or Middle Path has several definitions:It is often described as the practice of non-extremism; a path of moderation away from the extremes of self-indulgence and opposing self-mortification. It also refers to taking a middle ground between certain metaphysical views, e.g. that things ultimately either exist or do not exist.[18] An explanation of the state of nirvana and perfect enlightenment where all dualities fuse and cease to exist as separate entities.Whatever. im not having a go at you just the people that are jeopardising the party scene for everyone.

Buddism is not a religion but a way of life.
You obiviously quoted that from a book but why does it seem that I am not a good Buddist?
In Buddism there is no set way that you should act, you can be what ever you want. I take drugs and drink booze which is considered bad by society but not to me. so does that mean I am not a buddist? no.
I blatantly said above I do not agree or take part in violence. Unfortunately alot of people are but I am not gonna hate them for it or not speak to them, something I learnt from Buddism let everyone take there own path I not here to judge everyone especially not from what other people tell me.

BK dont seem to be learning from experience tho. thats the point. Fighting babylon isnt gonna get them or the scene anywhere. Another point im not religious. Your having a go at people for baseing thier opinions on what other people have told them is this not the same as all religions. Your living your life by someone else’s teachings.Im not having a go at you about your religion, what ever gets people through the day.My main issue is that violence isnt gonna get people anywhere. whether its the police or the ravers.

September 7, 2007 at 2:28 pm #1119414To be fair I’ve not seen anyone from Kan try any “spamming” here in all the years they have been about, and murdochspace has always been used by most people to plug stuff like music because of the “free” bandwidth.. its a big shame what happened as they are clearly a talented bunch, and I always thought some of them had their heads screwed on – but I think what is happening goes a lot deeper than Kan, or “Norfolk”.
Kan made a horrendous tactical mistake here but I think that trouble had been brewing up for 2 or 3 years. They are by no means the only sound system around in East Anglia, far from it – and EA was until recently an area with the most raves in the region.
I think crews have confused lack of enforcement with acceptance by wider society of what they were doing. Farmers were just as pissed off about raves “back in the day” – but in times of beautiful weather, bumper harvests and fat subsidies they appeared to “take it on the chin”, as any issues were fairly minor. The wider region was also still doing quite well financially due to the dot com/IT industry growing (“bumpkins” need computers too, lots of stuff “down on the farm” is computerised!), and Eastern constabularies had always been under strength for some years as in these boom times there wasn’t that much crime…
Recently though EAs economy is a lot more uncertain – competition from foreign countries has become ruthless and there have been weather and cashflow problems for farmers and other industries. its also affected the younger people a lot as they are now finding it hard to get jobs, or the ones they do get are shit and boring.
They see the weekend as the only escape – they become desparate to have their party to the point that a significant minority of people become prepared (particularly as “group influence” takes over) to actually physically fight the authorities thinking it will save their evening. Also there is (compared to the early 2000s) a lot of “supressed anger” at raves IMO, as I have mentioned a fair few times on other threads it often doesn’t need the feds to attend for some sort of beef to kick off at a party…
As a recession starts to bite, farmers and building owners are now saying they won’t be “bullied” into letting people get away with raves on their property (as the clear up may cost them money), at the same time Eastern cops have learned how to work together due to new technology (such the Airwave radio equipment) and they are doing “link ups” between forces rather than just retreat and “give in” to the ravers.
Also at the end of 2006 the Ipswich prostitute murders and the shooting at Zest nightclub has brought the entire drugs / sex / music / late nights counterculture in this region under intense scrutiny both by the Police and the “moralist” religious types (of all cultures and backgrounds).
It also showed up that a lot of the “old skool” ravers had got on to problematic drug use and associated lifestyles which didn’t count in our favour.
Cops and religious leaders often don’t make a distinction between legal and illegal raves, grime/garage or hard trance or hard and soft drugs – to them all of it is bad and should be stamped out or at the very least controlled, and unfortunately the “puritan” attitude (now backed up by more socially conservative Asian religions as well!) still has a lot of clout in East Anglia.
Things are coming to a head here (like they have already done in other regions) – it will be interesting to see how this all pans out.
