just seen the latest BBC news report about raves
I have a nasty feeling I know which crews are involved
you wouldn’t rent a van from Stow unless you have connections there.
thought the people involved had more sense than that..:hopeless:
glad I was in Reading last weekend (not often i say that these days!)

Cheers.February 19, 2008 at 10:42 am #1155640Not good news at all….though you have to be pretty damn stupid to have a sign with a price for your beers etc.
It sounds crazy but I think the less tolerant the police are the better to an extent. It is large scale gatherings that attract the more criminal element and also the police. By cracking down they force the vents underground and hopefully make them a load safer..

February 19, 2008 at 10:43 am #1155646Argh – looks like they have the rig and grounds to prosecute for PEL violations as a result :hopeless:

for one thing East Anglian parties were never that large compared to the “UK teks” in London and SE England and its always been a closely knit crowd due to the terrain
if that were the case the Norfolk events would have improved when Essex and Suffolk locked down 2-3 years ago or the Thames Valley lockdown would have never happened.
what actually happens is that when the feds start proper cracking down those people who are doing something else with their lives (college, jobs etc) simply walk away because its becoming too risky to get involved, especially when they are risking thousands of pounds of their property or even their car being taken.
I’ve only been here two years and a fair few of my mates from the free party crews seem to have left because its got too on top.
This leaves the youths who are basically living by selling ketamine etc and actually increases the criminality and sketchiness, creating a “self fullfilling prophecy” of crime and dysfunctional behaviour which the Police are now reacting to.

what happened in East Anglia didn’t happen over night, the problems were festering over many years (Biotech was pointing them out long before I even lived in this area).
one thing in your advantage is that the land where parties seem to occur is less valuable for farming, so you might be given a bit more leeway.

February 23, 2008 at 11:47 am #1155641AnonymousI think its time to find some other locations personally and perhaps let the area chill out.
Beds Police came down hard on the crews and look what happend there and how long that went on for, not to mention like GL said Beds, Berks, Oxon and Bristol&Avon. Surely its only a matter or time until this will happen to Norfolk?
😥

February 23, 2008 at 5:08 pm #1155642crews definitely need to start thinking a bit more. only the other day we got shut down and realised we had no backup location, barely any money for extra petrol and little organisation.
tbh, we had an ideal location but decided to link up with another crew who wanted to use theirs which turned out to be propper bait.
i cant wait till summer when we can take smaller stacks and set up deep in the country. only problem is some of the other members have the ‘bigger is better’ ethos and make the whole night alot more risky.
