I got numerous emails from Amazon about this, in spite of my accounts clearly being UK ones, and that it is actually quite hard to buy non-EU stuff there, though apparently some US companies have exported the concept to here (though I get so many emails I never noticed any big price difference, and don’t usually buy big ticket items from Amazon if I can avoid it).

In 1990 (ironically the same year as many student/poll tax riots) Metpol TSG units were deployed to a Sainsburys in the West end of London as Christmas shopping got out of hand..

I hate Christmas time shopping… I’m just gonna stick to amazon and ebay and avoid shops i think, much nicer that way… Also if you know what’s in the package you can save money on stupid gift wrapping paper (WHAT A SCAM AND WASTE OF CASH!!) I always just wrap presents in a tesco carrier bag or something because i refuse to use stupid gift wrapping paper which gets ripped off and binned in 2 seconds.
