May 31, 2006 at 1:17 pm #1077394If I had to choose one it’d be the whole of Dark side of the moon by Floyd (which is really all just one track…:bigsmile:)
If I could choose one more as every body else is now doing the aging punk in me would have to add Shot by both sides by Magazine…:bigsmile::bigsmile:

ay..ayy..less of the ageing punk !!, I missed out on all that really having been only 6 in 76, got into it all later on, through the mod / scooter scene. in many ways thats why i got so into the “rave” scene, it was something that for once was happening NOW so i grabbed it with both hands and never looked back!
I used to have a real objection to Floyd, it just reminded me of all those wooley hippy types I knew a college. However i recently “aquired” ever album they ever did, I always liked the stuff with syd, but recently had “wish u were here” in the car quite touching really..maybe i’m getting a little more mellow with time 😉
May 31, 2006 at 1:28 pm #1077320Fools Gold – The Stone Roses
Unfinished Sympathy – Massive Attack
FEAR – Ian Brown
Hope There’s Someone – Anthony And The Johnsons

You’re older than me then…. I got into it second time around (played a punk club in the early nineties, although listened to it when I was very young due to a brother who was into the Jam etc… Good education…:bigsmile:)
Same here for the rave scene too – attitude was much the same.
As for Floyd, nobody who listens to it can have an objection to true genius, and calling it hippy music is only really done by people who have never listened to it :bigsmile::bigsmile:. The Wall is far from easy or comfortable listening, and IMO has more in common with punk than anything else (I used to slip various Floyd tunes into my punk sets, and they were always well received):rant::rant:
