although ive lost the heart to hear about em now since they let pete townsend back into the band after he was catch red handed with pictures on his pc of child rape an porn….he denied it …an said he was looking at it for his autibiography he was gonna write….cos he said he was abused as a kid…..bullshit….but coz he is a megastar it twas forgot….when he should have been charged an made an examole of….he looks a wierd fuker…….soz to rant but i dont like ought to do with kids being hurt …

I’m am sorely tempted but PIL are a little “specialist” to take the title, although tracks like Public Image, Careering and Poptones (probably my fav) are works of genuis.
It has to be sai that I think the Pistols would have gone on to record much of that stuff in some form..I even have a recording of the Pistols doing The Flowers of romance. Not thatI’m taking anything away from Kieth, Wobble Lydon line up….lovin that sound.

But IMO The Pistols are the undisputed band of all time, their stuff (what little of it there is) still stands up today, in 76 they where smashing down barriers and disragarding all the rules. I dont think anyone has ever really had that impact before or since. Anyone who thinks they couldnt play should listen to some of the early reacoding with Matlock on bass, I was listening to an intrumantal version of No Feelings recently and it was proper rokin it. Even after matlock left Steve Jones is a fekin legend on lead…..I’ve said to much:wink:

What did ya think of The Rich Kids? Quite enjoyed ‘Ghosts Of Princes In Towers’ title track but found the album a bit of a let down. And correct me if I’m wrong wasn’t Steve New the guitarist a ‘second’ guitarist for the Pistols and then onto PIL?
