interestingly when I lived in Reading the people who believed most in UFOs (not just stoners/ravers either, including serving HM Forces personnel!) all lived around West Berkshire (a place well known for its role in the nuclear industry)
I personally feel there have been some intelligent lifeforms, but some UFOs are military hardware – plus any other being which has the knowledge to build such things as advanced spacecraft must be able to intercept and decode some of the cloud of wireless transmissions that surround our planet.
Because of technical issues on how radio signals get into space, the first things “they” would decode would probably be the US “redneck” radio stations and possibly our satellite television. This is hardly a great incentive for advanced beings to even attempt to engage in “civilised dialogue”.

it might not seem feasable to other people as enough evidence but on a personal level it was enough for me,
and ive seen other objects in the sky that i dont believe are anything man-made or astrological

January 30, 2008 at 5:08 pm #1153964I believe in there being life on other planets as with all of the above answers, The universe seems to big a place with just us being the only inhabitants!
I wonder if like millions of years ago. Mars was once a earth like planet which got fucked up thru global warming or a similar catastrophe and it’s inhabitants created Earth. Never know, could of happened!!

January 31, 2008 at 2:48 am #1153975Well, the way I look at It Is, If Aliens were Intelligent enough to be able to visit us, I would expect them to be clever enough not to make any attempts at proper contact with us. I think the question isn’t, “are they a threat to us” but “are we a threat to them” lol.
I think if an Alien race tried to make proper contact with us, some Government of military figures would end up make some sort of hostile move, following the “logic” of protecting Earth…
Also, If there were a hostile Alien race that was aware of us, I think they would have done something by now, and to be honest, if they are capable of vast space travel, they should be more than capable of destroying us, afterall, we struggle to get to the moon. Its not like what happens in these films like independance day hehe. Unfortunaltey these things very very rarley happen in that way in real life.

but there was an idiginous population that we could totally subdue, walk all over and either enslave, use or wipe out
what do you reckon we’d do?

And in natural evolution, they would be more intelligent or at least more addapted to their environment then we our to ours.I dont think the fact Earth is not the oldest planet would make to much of a difference, evolution doesn’t have to mean they became super intelligent or even intelligent at all.
There could just be single cell organisms or something like that (not that i have a clue though as its a bit hard to know) 😉
