Has anyone ever had one? or know anything about them? I’m thinking about getting 2 dwarf Norway Spruce, 1 to potentially banzai, and the other just for the amazing colours of the cones.
Heres a link to the place I’m gonna buy them from:
Dwarf Norway Spruce :: Raw Material :: Greenwood Bonsai Studio
heres what the cone’s look like in bloom:

really nice I think, the dwarf spruce’s cones are tiny little things
when I get it, I’ll put some pics up

March 2, 2012 at 1:26 am #1251326I had a bonsai once. It was really nice, I took care of it and all and it was good decoration. I might have spoken to it too many times though.

ahhh better than talking to yourself like I do.
Not 100% sure if I want to banzai it, the process of banzai is akin to torture, the whole restricting the roots, truck, branches ect. But for a novice, how easy or hard are they to maintain? I have a degree in ecology, so know about ideal soil pH levels and growth patterns and rates. I reckon I could grow a fine specimen of a dwarf Norse spruce
March 2, 2012 at 2:01 am #1251327It’s fairly easy once you get past the beginning stages. You just have to be nice to it.

March 3, 2012 at 5:54 am #1251325Mate if you’ve got a degree in ecology and some free time you won’t struggle at all with it, the groundie where I was working before had a few and he never really bothered researching into them at all.
