however its not actually that much better the other side of the Channel as from reading their own forums a while back French ravers are getting dragged down by heroin to a extent and they have rig politics/problems/crime too
but in the UK there is much more emphasis placed on the sound and less on lights etc.
Also bear in mind that until recently French raves were tolerated more so there wasn’t so much risk to their resources – for instance if a UK crew done a website with so much info on it they would be busted and all the info used against them..
setting up something like that gas jet (although its actually a fairly common object used in movie/stage special effects) is far from trivial if its going to be safe…
yeah very true since mutant dance went i havent seen nearly as much emphiseses on lights uv etc, aside from maybe some psy -trance crews,
i think ( in bristol anyway) since one crew in particular came (and now gone ) on the scene they really drove the “look how big my rig is” ting,
yeah thats the 2 things that surprised me about france a) how much smack & crack was being consumed at the tek
b) a french rig told me that if they do a party and if ts under 500 peopleand they dont get a complaint the police will allow it!May 22, 2009 at 4:08 pm #1200215Minghead;329881 wrote:yeah thats the 2 things that surprised me about france a) how much smack & crack was being consumed at the tekTBH a similar amount is consumed amongst Britain’s ravers but less blatantly… if those class A’s are done a combination of paranoia and taboos (plus that if any form of cocaine is around often every blagger for miles around wants a bit) means its usually done amongst very close knit groups of friends.

Others however insist on (small amounts) of paperwork or refuse all gatherings.
I think this “light touch licensing” for smaller gatherings might be a EU rule as Pawelnrg mentions similar situations in Poland and CZ.
bear in mind though France is physically very large and there is more “spare” land what even if privately owned isn’t useable for farming/livestock and there is a tradition of permitting leisure activities on there if no one else nor the environment is harmed…

very true after the party ended we went to chill at a place called posse (proberbly spelt wrong!) beautifull place, we camped up by some glorius lakes and on the 1st night the mayor of the village visted our camp, spoke really good english and let us stay the night! he was very plesant and mild mannerd about it all just wanted to know if we had sound systems and if so not to swicth them on aslocals liked to fish the lake!
like typical english we stayed an extra night! and when he came he was once again very sound sat down explained he didnt mind us as we clearly respected his land (no rubbish etc) however he didnt want french locals getting the wrong idea thinking it was a camp site!
im moving to france methinks! mwhaha!
