apparently there are 1 or 2 things happening reasonably local tonight and I’ve no responsibilities until thursday so it would be criminal not to go out and take advantage of that.

I was born there (Lewisham Hospital), spent a fair bit of my life there (lived in Catford, Lee, New Cross and more recently Eltham) – it wasn’t a bad place until the mid 90s if you kept your wits about you..

I got my first set DJ’ing on a pirate radio station there way back in 1990 (Netwerk FM, they were using the Pepys Estate blocks)

even last year when I went to the Red Star for that K32/DRSS night (now closed?) it still had a bit of that original spirit, its a shame all the stupid gang/macho culture has fucked up the area..

Fair enough, I remember it being where the “trendier” students used to get shared houses and went to a few house-parties / smoking sessions round there…(around 1991/2 or so)
