Anyone ever eaten sea-urchin?

in Tarifa ( the town not me, to save any wierd confusion :crazy: )

generally early in the mornings there’d great piles of black/green sea-urchins on the pavements of the main road, on the corners or outside cafes.

i’ve never eaten them, you take a pair of scissors an just open them up alive, scoop it out with a spoon and yum – looks like brown crab meat but i never got to taste any

anyone else done so? if so what’s it like?

Come to Scotland you can get your sea urchin deep fried for 50p.

Honestly you can get anything you want fried….as if the menu isn’t expansive enough.

yeh im a big sushi fan, in japan they call sea urchin ‘uni’ and its fuckin bomb. my favorite actually. gotta get good stuff though, i wouldnt get it just anywhere, if it aint good n well prepared from a good location youll get sick and it will taste like asshole :yakk:
