August 3, 2007 at 3:02 pm #1117326CMA’s? used to do bushido, ju-jitsu and kickboxing. Bushido is quality, proper hard core. At the moment im not doing anything, apart from being a bit lazy and going out a lot. Had to give up bushido cause they pretty much want you to give up everything else so’ you can train as hard as possible. never got any belts, always seemed to leave before they came up. im rubbish to commiting to anything…

August 3, 2007 at 3:20 pm #1117329Jujutsu (柔術, jūjutsu — pronounced “jyoo-jits”?) listen (help·info), meaning “gentle/yielding/compliant art”, is a Japanese martial art whose central ethos is to yield to the force provided by an opponent’s attack in order to apply counter techniques. There are many variations of the art which leads to a diversity of approaches. Jujutsu schools (ryū) may utilize all techniques to some degree (i.e. throwing, trapping, locking, holding down, grappling, gouging, biting, disengagements, striking, and kicking). Generally jujutsu schools make limited use of strikes since they were predominantly developed in feudal Japan under the auspices of the samurai warrior class. The techniques evolved to become effective against armed opponents’ body armour to protect vital parts of the face, throat, and body. In addition to jujutsu, many schools taught the use of weaponsYeah i reckon id be up for doing ju-jitsu again it was really effective and simple to do. would appreciate some links…

It orginates from the samurai moral code and stresses frugality, loyalty, mastery of martial arts, and honor to the death. Bushidō developed between the 11th to 14th centuries as set forth by numerous translated documents dating from the 12th to 16th centuries (as mentioned below). However, some dependable sources also state the document might have been formulated in the 17th century.According to the Japanese dictionary Shogakukan Kokugo Daijiten, “Bushidō is defined as a unique philosophy (ronri) that spread through the warrior class from the Muromachi (chusei) period.” Nitobe Inazō, in his book Bushidō: The Soul of Japan, described it in this way. “…Bushidō, then, is the code of moral principles which the samurai were required or instructed to observe… More frequently it is a code unuttered and unwritten… It was an organic growth of decades and centuries of military career.”Under the Tokugawa Shogunate, Bushidō became formalized into Japanese Feudal Law.[1] Honor codes are still used today.[citation needed]
