Good day class. Now i’m just wondering as we have alot of DJ’s here, what music do you like to play and mix., ie, what is your favourite genre.

I used to have an interest in DJing and tried my hand at DnB, Hard trance/house and then just trance. I have now given up on it as i have shite equipment and cannae be bothered with it anymore! 😉

i love to mix (on traktor3) house (tech, electro, fidget, pretty much most house) and minimal and hardtrance. mmm and a bit of hardtek and techno aswell but dont enjoy those mixes much

i mix happy hardcore/d+b/old skool mainly …. i also like gabba/hardcore/tekno and much more music that isn’t dance raaa

rock a free pre club night in glasgow with tracktor 3 and a midi controller

tryin not to be too anal with genres, but generaly hard dance, nrg and breaks.

but most things. tbh i havent bought a record in a few months, dont seem to have the money but ive got a massive list of tunes i wanna get when i can.

I mainly mix d’n’b/jungle but have started mixing hardstyle.I use to mix alot of old skool and hardcore tracks until i sold my collection recently.Have been thinking of getting some acid techno.

In chronological order from ’91 to date:

OldschoolHardcoreJungleTechno, Goa (I think the kids call it psy trance these days), hard house, techno, hip-hop, DnB, jungle, hard techno, harder techno, breakz, gabba, hardtek, dubstep.

And now Ilike to mix it all up.

to me psytrance is the more pumping psychedelic stuff, goa more like this:

I do have LSD by Hallucinogen (wicked album) and I don’t have the other one, but I do have this too which I reckon is closer to what you call psytrance, but still called Goa when I bought it back in the day just as the boundaries were blurring…

Still not psytrance yet then?

I have a mate who reckons there is only one psytrance record and all the DJ’s take it in turns to play it :weee:

Ha ha! That’s what a mate I worked with in the Volks (in Brighton) used to think. He also reckoned that everyone just had one dance to it- the Psy Trance Shuffle!!

As for mixing- as many styles as I can fit in! In no particular order- Ragga Jungle/DnB, 90-91 Piano House, 93-94 Breakbeat Hardcore, some Hardcore Breaks, Acid Techno, Breaks, Psy Trance, Jungle Techno, Reggae, Ska, Funk, Motown and Classic Hip Hop.

Ideally all at once!
