56a infoshop is an amazing space which has done alot of good over the years.

ANNOUNCING THE 20th ANNIVERSARY of the 56a INFOSHOP!!
It was on the 27th June 1991 that we first opened the doors of the 56a Infoshop and here we still are. Come on down and enjoy us and the space and celebrate with us this weekend something bloody great in this cesspit city of London!!Please spread the word of the events to all who need to hear about it!!
THUR 23rd JUNE:
XC’s FUNKY 56a SHIFT BBQ begins 4pm
XC has been holding down a shift here for 20 years – pop by for a chat and catch-up if you’ve ever been to the 56a!! Funk music plus other dances from round the world with dance moves plus vegan BBQ in yard from 7pm. Plus the new 56a Infoshop 20th Anniversary exhibition – flyers and photos from 20 years of collective madness and rabble-rousing!!
FRID 24th JUNE:
56a Birthday Cakes and Quiz – bring vegan cakes (prizes for the best) and team-mates for the quiz. Starting when the shop shuts (7pm) and ending with a late-night bike ride for the keen… come on down and hang out with folks…
SAT 25th JUNE:
From Heygate to Strata: Gentrification – whats the folks going on!!
Southwark Notes anti-gentrification blog crew and 56a folks are leading an active walk with all around the gentrification of ELEPHANT & CASTLE with tales, activities, fun etc. We will be walking a circular walk from 56a around the sites of radical history, squatting, riots and tumult but also looking at the areas and politics and resistance to the rapid gentrification of the local area. Plus visiting the Heygate Community (squatted) Gardens. Meet 12pm at 56a for a round trip through the area arriving back at 56a a bit later…
SUN 26th JUNE:
Breakfast Social Caff at 56a from midday. Pancakes, coffee, food etc. Bring food to share too. Hanging out eating together in the 56a and in the yard. Other activities TBA!!!
Full Unemployment Cinema at Colorama presents Awash With Work – a film Rivers Special…movies on rivers, oceans, sailing and work!! Free, starts 6pm
Acoustic Insurgency gig at The Grosvenor, Stockwell: PRESSGANG and THE JACK RATTS and others (benefit for Dissident Island radio) Doors open 8pm.
