I suppose that don’t count but still it was funny!:wink:January 7, 2008 at 6:35 pm #1151212my 15 minutes of fame was when i was in france with my family, i was 8. i was a well confident cocky kid back then! we were gonna visit this chataeu place, we realised there were loads and loads of police about. when we got there, after about 10 minutes a huge crowd of police, armed bodyguards and paparazzi came in. we asked a local and they said jack shiraq was comin to look round, some kind of publicity stunt i suppose. so i got my dad to give me the camera, and literally crawled my way through this huge crowd and to the centre. a bodyguard grabbed the camera off me and said something in french and i was like “shit my dad’s camera!” but then shiraq put his arm round me (and my brother as he had managed to get through as well) andd his bodyguard took the picture.
we were wearin denace the menice t-shirts about france 98, and the next day front page of a french national was the back of my t-shirt saying “menace” and accompanying story about english football hooligans potential at the world cup, i thought it was quite a funny pun.
so yeah, i’ll try upload the picture actualy. tbh people may not like jack shiraq but to be fair i couldnt have understood him being a prick with things like politics at 8! if i did, i might have punched him in the bollocks instead.

we did have some funny moment such as using the Queen Mother Obit CD to rack up on (this was the one with all funeral music on it as she was (just) about alive then but all stations were on standby in case she keeled over at any time)
also our first studio was in Microsofts former corporate HQ in Reading…

January 7, 2008 at 7:02 pm #1151210this one was actually on the FM band though (so people could listen to it in their cars etc). we used to give subtle shouts to free party crews, and take the mickey out of the CID who turned up at one rave with shiny white cheap JJB sports own brand trainers :laugh_at:
once there was a set of breakcore and the head engineer jumped out of his bed and rung the studio thinking we had bypassed the limiter and were TX’ing pure distortion (which would be really bad as it can interfere with aircraft)
we had to re-assure him and say “nah, PPM (level meter) is only on 4 max, but its actually supposed to sound like that” :laugh_at:
