my computers and the MSF clock are correct but now I have to change any other devices with clocks

also I’ve no idea if my linux server (which I had to reformat this week) has picked up the correct time (Centos 5 if anyone knows) and I foolishly didn’t reset the firewall either at work so I can’t connect to it remotely..

at least its not a production system yet

here’s a tip if you have cordless or other phones that pick up the time from BT caller ID (only works on BT Openreach lines)

dial 17070

a woman will say “This circuit is defined as (your telephone number)”
“BT line test facilities, Press 1 for ringback, 2 for quiet line etc”

press 1 (don’t use the other options as you need a code)

the woman will say “ringback test, please clear down”

the phone will ring again with a caller ID starting 0800328xxxx and when you pick it up you will hear “ringback test complete. Thank you for using BT line test facilities”

your phone will now have the correct time from BT’s master clocks (based on accurate atomic clocks and MSF signal) 😉
