About pop
Pop music (an abbreviation of popular) is a genre of popular music. Its contemporary form first originated in the 1950s from rock and roll. Pop music is often written with the intention of a target audience and mostly features short to medium length songs which are written in a typical verse / chorus structure and often with some form of a catchy hook. A lot of great music has been coming out of the Pacific Northwest lately. Portland-based Americana – grit rock duo THE MUTINEERS are here to prove it. They have announced ‘Couldn’t Get Over You’ as the lead single from their new ‘Threshold’ EP, which releases on September 14.
This single has premiered in NYC’s Big Takeover Magazine, who say The Mutineers have “a winning formula” with “one foot firm in Americana camp and one in old time rock n’ roll. A familiar warm feeling comes as with many Elvis Presley songs and some of the more mellow output by The White Stripes, though this track could easily fit in the final club scene that ended David Lynch’s recent season of ‘Twin Peaks’. Excellent, harmonious, sincere and catchy”.
For those celebrating Labor Day today, I do hope you’ll earmark the album for future listening. Whether or not you listen to this new EP today, please do consider supporting. The Mutineers’ 35-date U.S. tour will begin on September 13. Let me know if you’d like to come out to write a live review of one of these gigs or help us get the word out about these shows in advance.

It’s always inspiring to me when I hear about a great band being resurrected. In this case, Finnish post-punk pioneers MUSTA PARAATI are back with a new album ‘Black Parade’, albeit with a new vocals by Jyrki 69, originally with The 69 Eyes. This puts the greatest silver lining on this new offering – their first album recorded in English. This is their first new album in 34 years, set for release on October 19 via Cleopatra Records.
If all of this weren’t enough, you just need to see the stunning accompanying video for the first single ‘The Leader’, which was filmed in L.A.
News articles, airplay and social media sharing are also appreciated, as well as features and interviews. Quick access to press materials:

We are Frank Sinutre, an electronic project born in October 2011 in Mantova (Italy) that uses home made electronic instruments as well as traditional ones (guitars, bass, vocal, vocoder).
We play homemade electronic instruments such as Reactabox (a midi controller inspired by the famous Reactable: it consists of a cube of light that works with an infrared webcam which works by reading images on little cubes and discs controllers that are placed and moved on the reactabox screen) and Drummabox (an acoustic drum machine based on Arduino). During the last 3 years we performed live shows in about 250 live gigs in Europe.
In May 19th our third album ‘The Boy Who Believed He Could Fly’ has been released through the label New Model Label. This album meets the electronic style mixed with traditional analogue instruments.
We are looking for radio interested in broadcasting our music.
