I liked it when a mate’s mother described it as a wildlife garden 🙂
Unfortunately it’s rapidly becoming a bramble patch. My arms are scratched to fuck and stinging nicely tonight
Tidying/hacking down stuff in my garden. I haven’t done anything out there for at least 18 months. It’s a jungle.
Discovered I have loads of frogs in my pond :horay:
Discovered my neighbour at the end of the garden has been dumping his rubbish over the fence:annoyed:

Yeah I believe you Froots
Bit late now, but good luck mate

shearminator wrote:yer i know a few of the boys that run the show on the main arena rig and i swear most of the time there rig is bigger than that:mobile_phIt may have looked a smaller rig but was probably running a bit more bass. The cabs are running 12″ drivers so take up less space
They also managed to blow up some of the amps which reduced the power
shearminator wrote:the be quite honest i didnt think the outside main rig not mentioning any names but didnt sound up to how they sound most weekends:rant:That particular combination hasn’t been out before, most of it wasn’t who you might think!

It’s a perfect illustration of the bizarre hold the site takes over it’s users. I have to confess, life is different without a regular look at what’s happening on SJ. It’s more more addictive than soap operas! (which I hate)
snarf wrote:Nice thought Col, we appreciate the sentiment. We couldn’t take your money, though. I think it would be unethical to charge for something which is so detrimental and generally poisonous to the state of mind of its readership. 😉
In it’s strange way Sj does represent something of the best of the party scene: People willing to devote time, effort, money and resources to something without expecting any tangible return

Though there were times when I worried that I looked like a free Rizla dispenser I got asked so many times!
partyanimal wrote:As for hardstyle, I don’t think I heard much at all; lots of hard trance though. Quite a bit of variation of music at the party overall in my opinion.I have to admit I couldn’t tell you the difference between hardstyle and hard trance, it sounds much the same to me!
We’re used to being able to play a wide variety of styles, we’d never play more than a couple of hours of the same style.
Was interesting being part of the linkup but I wouldn’t do it again without having some say in the music policy
T.I.G wrote:Bollocks! the was a good stint of hardstyle on the main rig but it hardly formed the majority of the party..As a fair bit of kit was ours I was paying attention. Some of us couldn’t get on the rig to play our sets. Can’t speak for Saturday night but on Sunday there was one Hardcore set – I missed it 🙁 Sunday night there were 4 sets that weren’t hardstyle. Other than that it was all bouncy bouncy kidstyle
Welshcore wrote:WOZ THIS THE HARDSTYLE MOOT :bigsmile:There is some truth in that given that 2 of the rigs, including the biggest didn’t play much else :/
But there was plenty of good music there as well!
I wasn’t there for Saturday night whichmay have been busier but I’d estimate around 2000 rather than 4000 on site. Given that a lot of people were only there for some of the party the overall attendance may be nearer to 3000.
I counted 6 or 7 setups, biggest link up was kit from around 5 or so rigs
Here’s what some people were doing at the weekend

😛
It’s cheating in the same way that playing records rather than instruments is!
For someone like me that makes all the music I play, it’s the only rational way of doing it. Getting 70+ tunes pressed to vinyl isn’t a practical alternative. I used to use CD’s but now use Traktor. Our other resident DJ’s also use Traktor, a lot of the material they play doesn’t get released on vinyl.
Being a DJ isn’t just about beat-matching by ear it’s as much about your choice of tunes, good mxing and getting a set that flows well.

just about to check whats up with my deck now! DOH!hope your mates daughter enjoyed the tek away from that fucking prick @ munt. (forgot her name, soz)
Cheers, was really enjoying your set until the dead deck put an end to things :bitter: Hyb played another blinder as well
Jade had a great time at the Tek, ran a little tea/coffee stall and made herself a bit of pocket money.
Jo discovered one of the perils of passing out at parties when she found a large footprint on her back after Munt. Detailed forensic investigation showed the culprit to have been Tomato Man :laugh_at:
Feel like I’ve been partying all w/e!!
A busy w/e for ITSy BITSy. Saturday night with Tribe of Munt. Not the busiest it’s been but a wicked night anyway. Really enjoyed playing my first set for ages.
Packed up Suinday morning and headed off to EggTek for the rest of the w/e. Phat party and an excellent venue. Was loving the sound of 12 punishers in the big linkup, even if I did somehow miss all the non-cheese sets played on it!
Big ups to Karpet and Disco Pete for superb lights, Fatty and the Hippy for barbecue goodness and a lot of hard work, Jade for being a star on coffee and teas and Jo for being a nutter.
Big ups also to all the crews and people that made for such a good w/e
The UK’s rave scene has certainly undergone some changes and some heavy pressure over the last year. In particular the use of Public Entertainment legislation. There are still various legal actions in progress and the final result to one other case has been large fines (although all equipment was finally returned) Over the course of the last year a large number of rigs have been confiscated
Undoubtedly many of us will continue to look for opportunities to do licensed events as well as carrying on doing small private parties for our friends around the country. In my experience the adversity frequently makes rigs determined to carry on! Many of the rigs that were taken have built new systems.
I think it may unfortunately be the case that the last few years will have been the last of the good multi-rig raves in the South/South East.
On the positive side there has been a successful return to smaller, more intimate parties that have been allowed to continue.
The scene has sensibly enough returned to a slightly more ‘underground’ approach. The internet has a far broader reach now and the level of publicity it can generate isn’t always good for parties.
I’m sure Partyvibe can continue much as it is. There are plenty of ‘overground’ aspects of free party culture that won’t lead to legal charges!!
And let’s face it, we need somewhere saner than Squatjuice!! :mkay:
A real shame, one of this year’s more enjoyable parties although it didn’t have the biggest attendance. Seven rigs taken with dubious legality, let’s hope they get them back OK.
