hi
i am planning a nite out down in Brighton – I thought it was all student bars/clubs and not much else. Is there a more interesting scene …i like acid techno…any advice gratefully received.
I logged on after a few glasses of vino and was instantly into the chopping challenge – it did not go too well, due to inebriation. Any clues about what the aim of the game is?
thanks

Hi little squat monkey

good luck with hard trance – have u heard of Kevin Energy, he’s more hard dance but u may like that. He produces records + djs – website is http://www.nuenergy.co.uk
good to have u on board
totally agree with the last thread
I recently heard about new puritanism. we shd not be surprised though, for a few years now youngsters have been reported as conservative with a small c – maybe due to the 60s when their parents were liberated and children always go the opposite way to their parents.
I always hated the Beatles in my youth – why? Because the olds worshipped them. No other reason.
Youngsters live in a much scarier world – there is pressure to conform. There is a lot more to lose now – status symbols have more weight. I feel sorry for them, all beavering away at millions of exams from the age of 5. No concrete welfare state to tide them over til they decide what they want to do with their lives. I suppose if I started life as a 21 year old graduate with £15k of debt to repay to my government I’d hate people who go out & have fun too.
My first free party was on 13 Dec 2003. It was a Munt party in Hackney Wick in some old pub…I loved every second of it and was completely gutted to find I’d been going to shit clubs for years when this fantastic scene was happening all around me!!!
I just love parties because of the people – they are SO GREAT!!!! I have met more interesting people at parties that I have ever met in my life. I just love that feeling of being completely FREE!!!! WOOHOOOO!
They have restored my faith in humanity.
At the party itself all I remember is the darkness and the booming techno – just when I thought it couldn’t go any further, it just got deeper and darker – stupendous. Plus tremendous confusion from a friend buying some GHB or some such thing and mixing it into a load of other stuff for us to snort – UTTER confusion for 2 hours. PERFECT!!!!
So I’ve been hooked from the start really. Hope free parties continue to stand firm against the BORING OLD FARTS who seek to bring us down. Hedonism rules

I have heard this is naff but this is my dad’s old pc which I am very grateful for.
I am very interested to read about this Chinese ‘Wild Dancing Party’. But I would like to add this regarding the official reports of waste & damage.
Recently, I read reports of a rave in this country, cant remember which site. Basically the jist was the same – natural beauty spot soiled etc, but there was a reply from one of the ravers stating that he and others had cleaned all the rubbish from the site and left it as they found it. He posted pics too. I know who I believe. China has growing links with Britain – I can’t believe they haven’t discussed things like this rave problem. It’s all a matter of propaganda. If they embellish the truth about drugs being evil and parties being a place where drugs are taken/sold they can enforce their image as upholders of law and order etc.
It is heartening to know though that the urge to dance to loud repetitive beats is universal – I think it brings us closer together as human beings.

Yes! Whilst I was a student in Manchester (89-93) I remember a shooting of this type in a club full of punters. Manchester at the time was full of gangs roaming the street fully armed mind you, at least London appears not to be at that point yet.
Thinking back to the Scum tek II I was pretty shocked by the sight of a man walking past me with blood literally pouring from wounds in his head. Very disturbing. I heard he was a drug dealer and had been ‘hammered’ 6 times in the head. Imagine if the rival drug dealer had a gun, not a hammer….in fact I’d rather not.
Hi USE
Yes, it looks good.
Can you tell me how to put one on here too? I am not very up on computers so laymans terms would be appreciated.thanks
September 14, 2005 at 9:59 pm in reply to: UK : LDN : bling bling to bang bang – 2 dead in top store! #1067058I was quite shocked by this news story. It was like something off the American news.
I dont know if guns are becoming more prevalent in London, I heard before it was knives that posed the main threat, I hope not.I heard an American on the radio recently saying the UK would definitely have legalised guns for private citizens within 10 years. In the light of this incident, I sincerely hope he’s wrong.
Following the killing by police of an innocent man (well innocent of the crime he was supposed to have been involved in) re the recent bombings, I would say the police need to review who amongst them is armed and how they are trained let alone let ordinary citizens loose with automatics. I do believe however, that the sight of officers with guns (now pretty common around London) does start the process of legitimising guns. When I was young the sight of a gun in a policeman’s holdster was a shock. It isn’t anymore.
Apparently it’s pretty easy to get a gun in the UK – I suggest the police spend their time getting to the bottom of this trade rather than prosecuting free party goers. But I suppose it’s easier to round up a load of spannered ravers than infiltrate the underbelly of London gangland.
‘Too old’ is a state of mind.
I took my first e aged 26 in 1996 (on 26th b’day) and am still at it.
Boyfriend took first e aged 32 in 1992 and is also still at it!!
Stop judging yourself etc & enjoy it!
Andy_Aztek – u forgot u woz on PV & not SJ???!!!! HAAAAAA!!!
has anyone been to Stonehenge for the solstice? I wanted to go when i was 13, but forgot about it til recently. Then friends went & said it was ok (but they took rather a lot of mushrooms!) – any other reports??? I would like some objective reports before I decide to take time off work next year.
thanks!
Sophie, hello….tell us a bit about yourself….where are you, what are you into, why did you decide to post to PV?
Don’t be shy, we are all friends.Hmmm, that’s a good question. I loved Miss Piggy, she kicked ASS, plus she & Kermie had a fantastic relationship. (ie she kicked ass & he loved it)
But, for me Grover was IT. He was loving, sensitive and soooo into sharing and singing. And he has cute skinny arms. I dont’ know if I want to be Grover or just take him home?!!???
Been to my cousin’s wedding – service in Southampton, then onto Winchester for the reception. Having a weekend of rest from rugs after 24 hours of Munt last wkend. It was a brilliant party, but I’ve got a new responsible job so can’t party every wkend now. It’s hard not to get wrecked on the wkends – I’ve found that getting absolutely pissed is the only way to not get wrecked on rugs. Is that worse?
I was introduced by a friend. I prefer this site to SJ as I am too old for SJ contributors’ comments. It is just tedious.
I am gratifited to see so many new commentators to a couple of months ago on PV – there are always those with brains willing + able to have a proper, debate. Hallellujah.
Hi
Maybe you could mention a couple of things that made you post on a rival SJ site?
I like SJ, but I am tired of sifting through the reams of rubbish to get at the rare cogent comment. The main posters on SJ are underage bores full of shit about what type of sandwich they had for lunch.
YAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL intelligent partyvibers
Hello
I am from Glasgow but have lived in ‘the South’ for 27 years. South to me is lower than an arbitrary line drawn from the middle of London straight across the UK to somewhere in South Wales. North of that is the midlands a terrible wasteland, and when you near Middlesbrough, you are getting North.
Hope that helps, but to be honest, I prefer not to leave London. I was ridiculed in public for wearing a fringed mini skirt and leggings in deepest Surrey in 1991 and have never returned.
My name is sambo…and i added the 303 bit cos i really like those roland tb303s in acid techno.
my name on squat juice is auntydrugs. i thought that was amusing – have got quite a lot of abuse on that site though due to being a bit aunty-ish. Think i just take on another persona over there and get on my high horse. Cant help it though, everyone seems so like they need a word of friendly advice but it comes out all fogeyish. Nevermind…old fogeys like raving too har har.Gee thanx for all those party numbers. Yes, the quilt thing was good…and munt are the best…..I already have the manik/malfateurs nos….ok, will keep looking.
Went to a trance party a couple of weeks ago, squatting at the Pleasure Rooms — yuk yuk and double yuk. Terrible fake trance, dull crowd, god, sorry…just couldn’t hack it. Had to take lots of k, then spent 2 hours trying to work out the dimensions of the room I was in. Then left, never to return.
