http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR229349when i started djing, i bought a pair of Sound lab belt drives, which were shit hot for starter dex. After that i bought a pair of sound lab direct drives which were aweful compared to the belts i had first had. found the platter was lighter and you couldnt put much force on the deck when slowing / speeding up a record.
I would suggest for you to get an expensive pair of belts instead of a cheap pair of directs. once you got to grips with the belters then go for the technics.
Even tho u can get a second hand pair of technics quite cheap. approx 400quid.
hav a look on http://www.dontstayin.com there is always people selling turntables and mixers.
for a mixer i would go for the Gemini 626 mixer, brilliant for a starter mix. then once getting your technics go for the Pioneer 600 / 800.
