mixing/mastering (we were making some sort of gabba/squat free tekno) was done real time and recording was still analogue. The ZIP drive (a type of mini hard drive) was used to store longer samples; I remember them being notoriously unreliable so you still needed about 100 3,5″ disks for backups anyway…
