foobar2000 has a dll plugin so you can use the millkdrop visualiser. The TV is set up as “display 2” on an old Dell PC and is fed S-video at 800 x 600 resolution. As it is not anywhere as sharp as even a CRT monitor of the 1990s, I needed to change the text displays, and managed to track down a 1980s style font that looks just right 🙂 FPS is set to 25, as that is the standard frame rate for TV in Europe. The odd dark bit at the bottom of the screen is something to do with the video signals not being exactly synchronised.

coincidentally the town where Biotech lives once made many of Northern Europes TV sets (and Lowestoft is still known today as a place to get a good deal on a new TV set)
