Hey guys, I’ve been listening to this radio for a while and I was wondering if there were any slots I could fill?
I’m a bassist and DJ from Serbia, mostly doing that housey kind of sound.. I’ve been doing parties and radio stuff for a bit less than three years.. here’s a few of my mixes:
–live mix, a bit more into the mainstream
–chilled house mix (there was some voice over near the beginning but it was not recorded in the mix itself btw, feel free to skip the first few minutes)
–jackin/funky mix|
other mixes can be checked out at my mixcloud page.At the moment I am in a moving process so I can only use my MIDI setup and audio, in some time I will be able to hook up my TTs and record video if needed..
Anyways, I am open for any kind of cooperation, just let me know what’s up.. cheers! 😉
August 9, 2013 at 9:33 pm #1275228TBH we have plenty of slots free for live shows as many of our regulars have got older and become parents so cannot do their shows as often. Playing out recorded ones on the main PV stream can take more time due to the logistics of the upload/quality control process (which is however why PVR has particularly high sound quality). I also run a smaller online station VFR Europe (but closely interlinked with here) that plays house and trance so if you have prerecorded mixes to share I am more than happy to play them.
August 9, 2013 at 9:46 pm #1275231I think I remember GL telling us about some people tuning in from Serbia or maybe I could be wrong. GL Normally shouts out to all the nations thta are tuned into the live shows cos he’s a nice guy like that. 😀
As far a hosting goes, I think it would be great if you took a slot.
August 9, 2013 at 10:11 pm #1275239Damn, this forum is so cool and friendly, I love it here! :biggreen:
GL, you have a private message..August 9, 2013 at 10:21 pm #1275232I think we may still be having issues with our PM system. It may be fixed but i’m not too sure.
And yes this forum is a cut above the normal standards of the internet. Kinda like an oasis in the desert
August 10, 2013 at 1:55 pm #1275229I got max’s PM and have replied (certainly his recorded mixes can go on VFR). For the live streams those are selected by a democratic process and currently many of the mods are at festivals in the UK but I personally think there is definitely room for some house shows. TBH I probably could get some of Max’s shows on our community radio station in the night time as well…
on PVR you can actually stream at 320k live with a good connection (I tried it last time) so its worth checking this out. Also a good practice is to use a completely separate computer for streaming alone and a separate analogue mixer, with balanced audio, good earth and appropriate audio trafos if you need to keep out power supply noise from the audio..
August 10, 2013 at 9:59 pm #1275241Replied to the PM, preparing the mixes this week 🙂
It’s okay if i have to wait for a bit to get on air here, I think it’s worth it.. Separate computer, check. Power supply in total chaos, check.. hope I’ll be able to manage that part, I’m working on building my studio atm so everything is in chaos.. weee!August 11, 2013 at 10:45 pm #1275234I’ll have a listen to the mix’s up there tomoz when everyone isn’t sleeping and I can test how much of a “bassist” you really are . Get back to you with my 2 cents then.
Welcome to the site btw Max. 🙂

August 29, 2013 at 5:57 am #1275244August 29, 2013 at 10:38 am #1275235Sorry I’ve not got back about this, in all honesty I forgot about this thread as I’ve been a bit busy lately with festivals and my own music venture. I enjoyed listening to that mix a lot, but I think there might be a problem with copy right issues due to the style and kind of tunes you play. There are a fair few artists and labels that would most likely kick up a big fuss about us playing them on this stream and potentially get us closed down as there’s a big crack down on digital media copyright from the USA atm.
Do you have tunes you’ve made your self and own the rights to, as this obv would have no copyright issues associated with it.
August 29, 2013 at 12:18 pm #1275237I’m sorry but Daft is right I’m afraid. We can only host djs who play their own music or have the rights to it. Records labels and music producers in particular are welcome to take slots if they want them to promote their music…
August 29, 2013 at 12:41 pm #1275230its a wierd issue as a friend of mine finds himself in the same situation, if he uses any stream with links to USA and plays any USA tracks there is trouble but EU ones are OK. what is even stranger is the management team of a European artist will kick up a fuss about USA based playout but not from EU because our laws are different. All it takes is one artist getting greedy and the whole mix/set needs to be pulled which is a pain -at the same time getting the bandwidth required for the main PVR streams from Europe is currently not affordable.
There is a good reason why VFR is branded as “VFR Europe” and interlinked but run separately from Party Vibe Radio.

Hmm, I do have some material but not nearly enough to fill an hour of time.. would it be possible to do a “showcase” mix of a record label I’m working with?
It would be only their releases and absolutely no problems with copyright from their side.August 29, 2013 at 8:47 pm #1275238If you have their permission it’s fine with me.
August 30, 2013 at 3:22 am #1275236This sounds cool. I’m glad we got something sorted out in the end, It was painful having to say you couldn’t play, as you seam like a genuinely nice dude and are a decent dj.
This recent bill in the USA has been nothing but a pain in the arse for low NFP music organizations.August 30, 2013 at 8:17 am #1275246Great, thanks, I’ll get working on that 🙂
February 14, 2014 at 7:45 am #1275247yes there is a lot of room for new DJ’s. just need to get a chance.
