      Most of you who stream live know you can set the metadata in your software, but it usually does not change during your set if you are not streaming directly from your DJ software (i.e using an analogue mixer, and/or vinyl).

      but it is still possible to make it update as you wish (with station info, or even shouts to people and even random messages)

      This is how it is done, although you can keep entering the data yourself at the edcast window there is a risk of accidentally clicking the wrong thing and knocking your stream off air..

      So this is set to pick up a .txt file from a network share every 5 seconds – I was editing the file using notepad++ but you could code something to automatically scroll through a set of messages…

      I’ve tried it on both TuneIn and our player and the updates do happen fairly quickly (about 10 seconds) raaa
