Would be it possible to add the option to stip the image as its uploaded? Just a thought.
April 12, 2013 at 12:32 pm #1271575As in on the site? It’s certainly possible, and many photo sharing sites (including faecesbook) do so. You could also manually do it yourself on your computer but that would be a bit more tedious.
April 12, 2013 at 12:40 pm #1271571Why not just turn the sucker off in the first place?

because I like the geo data on my pics will be nice to map my life out and remember places.
April 12, 2013 at 1:24 pm #1271572Then get a EXIF editor so you are in control of the info you give away
April 12, 2013 at 1:25 pm #1271569I’m sure facebook would archive the geotags elsewhere with a index number so when the feds need this info and ask for it they can get it. TBH A good way of snaring chavs etc who brag about and photograph crimes..
in any case this is no better than the practice of having hundreds of road markings and traffic lights and expensive light controlled crossing and widely changing speed limits everywhere when the real solution to stay safe is for everyone to use the roads more carefully…

Yeah I just wondered if it was possible and easy for Dr B to add an option at the point of upload to remove the data. I did it myself but it was only for one pic, it does batches though so would only take 2 mins to do.
Its not important or anything its just there is a suggestions/ideas page and thus I posted it.

I have one it was just an idea 🙁
April 12, 2013 at 1:34 pm #1271573then get an editor that do batches…since they are not for free they would probably cost a big bundle to implement in a forum gallery…
I had a look in my nokia…there is an batch option there….so if you check your own phone or device it might do the same, then you do an upload with and with out the EXIF data
or get a photobucket or its likes account and do it there.
April 12, 2013 at 1:36 pm #1271570anyway it is good practice to check locally what is in EXIF data. Not just to protect privacy, even if you have nothing to be worried about there is useful info in there if you enjoy taking photographs which you can use to learn more about photography and make your pictures better.

I have one! ugh I give up! it was just a site suggestion not a demand. An idea, a creative thought.
ugh.
April 12, 2013 at 4:03 pm #1271574Just that you are aware of this makes me happy…most people post everything without a second thought.
